There are a ton of threads on this, and you're never going to get good answers, because everyone's areas and priorities are so different.

We are in NYC, hoping to come in around $28k for 75 guests.

In the NOVA area, around $45K for 200 people including our honeymoon. We are DIY'ing some things like some of our decor but most things are being supplied and done by vendors.

Yeah was just out of total curiosity. Ours is $2k for about 100 or so people. Lots of DIY, we are part of a dj company, know people to do hair/makeup, pictures, the cake, the food all for super cheap or free. We are in a small town in Wisconsin tho.

I just had a thread asking this about a week ago which had over 200 responses.

I'm in the Salt Lake City area (Utah) but our wedding venue is in Lehi, around a half hour from the city. Our budget is around 8k for 150 people, Utah isn't a very expensive place, luckily. Usually weddings are more expensive with higher population areas. My venue offers wedding packages with catering of flowers, food, and cake. Besides my floristry which I'm paying to have done, I'm going to diy a good portion of my decor/ centerpieces.

We estimated around 7k initially but it looks like we will be towards 8.5k for just us. No guests. This includes everything including two bridal gowns and honeymoon.

Sheesh, these threads always remind me there is one benefit to living in a small Texas town. Ours is going to end up running about 8k for about 85-90 people and that's including including the honeymoon.

Granted, there are a few diys and a couple areas we're using family friends so the cost isn't as high as normal.

Margaret- if your friends/acquaintances are in the business why don't you support them by paying them?

We are doing a destination wedding in Lake Tahoe, so this includes flights and lodging for us too. We are at 14k for 16 guests. Hopefully we will have enough miles by then for flights and can save 1k right there.

In CA...weddings average 30k ....but we knew we wanted to spend no more than 15k because we would much rather have a down payment for a 3rd home. We went to a lot of venues in different areas around CA and they were all so expensive. I bought a used dress, went cheap on party favors, did not hire a videoagrapher, am not getting a limo, etc....venue we got offered cheaper rates for an off season wedding so thats what we booked =)

Jeanmarie - a lot of people offer their services as a gift...our photographer is offering his photo/editing services to us for free. Any prints we need to pay for but that was such a wonderful gift. Also, my parents are gifting the DOC and FH parents are gifting the honeymood. It nice to have that support.

They aren't in business persay, all just friends and family that do said things for fun/are really good at it and won't accept payment. ( we usually accept these things as our gift as well as fill them with food, drinks, and a good time Smiley laugh )

For us it's not more than 30k and we have 50-60 guests. The most expensive was the food which is around 14k not including alcohol. Held in Sonoma, Ca

We live in a small town in Illinois.. Our budget was originally 10k for 150 guests, but we're up to 12k for about 170 people. I've done everything DIY and most of this is for our photographer, venue, DJ, & honeymoon. It does not include my dress or catering as we aren't the ones that paid for those things.

I don't find that these threads are really helpful, especially at the beginning of the journey. Your budget is what YOU want /can/feel like spending. In your area? It may cover 10 people or 100, a budget BBQ caterer or a lavish venue. Do you want to spend your next year glue-gunning things to each other or hire pros.

Perrysburg Ohio. We're at about 15k for everything for about 110 people. It includes a full, open bar (beers, wines, and several liquors), our catering, our venue (ceremony and reception is in the same place-ourdoor grounds with plenty of wooded acreage), the tables and chairs, my dress, my 6 BM dresses (yes we paid for them as a gift since the dresses are little black dresses that can be worn again and again and fit each girls styles), the GM suits (yes, we paid for these as their gifts as well-sometging they can all wear again for future events), the decorations (a lot were DIY), linens, lighting, cake, flowers, gratuities, photographer (3 people, all day, the rehearsal, the bachelor/ette parties, EP, the day after brunch) makeup and hair will be done by a friend who does it for a living in Las Vegas, the rings, and an all inclusive honeymoon. =]

@Hanna, everyone has different priorities. I wouldn't get married in Texas no matter how cheap it was.
