Wedding budget and keeping special date nights.

My fiancé and I are doing a special date night. I just got my associates. We try to go out once a week but keep it super budget friendly. Pizza and game night , chipotle and target or dollar store things like that. Tonight I am getting nails done we are going out to a pasta place that we share the pasta and I am getting a drink. How are you all keeping up with budgets and going out?

We set our budget as a number we could comfortably spend without giving up our regular date spending. I have a 6 year old so right now we go on a date night every other weekend when she’s with her dad. Sometimes we keep it budget friendly with pizza and beers and sometimes we go somewhere nicer. Just depends on what we’re in the mood for. Neither of us was willing to give that up to have the wedding so instead we gave up other stuff- like our initial guest list was 200 people and we cut it almost in half.

We need to do this!!! We literally just talked about how we eat out way too much!!!! And it’s not because I don’t cook.. I meal prep every week so that we eat healthy and stay fit during the week, but on our days off we tend to eat out!!! I need to stop and stay on a budget!!!

That's a great idea! We are so ready to stop having to budget like crazy on everything now that the wedding is over Smiley smile one of my friends actually gave us a check for the wedding and specified that it was to be used for an extravagant date night where we weren't allowed to feel guilty about spending too much. So wonderful Smiley laugh But honestly there are so many great things you can do on a budget, and yours sound like great ideas! Husband and I usually will just go for walks when we want to do something fun together but don't want to spend too much $

    That's a good idea.
We both managed to pick up extra shifts to do overtime so it kinda helped us because that overtime we each did pretty much paid for the wedding

We did this as well. We set a wedding budget that wouldn't affect any of our other normal, regular spending. I get grumpy when I'm put on a budget and knew I didn't want to live my life that for our entire engagement!

Now, we definitely cut back sometimes. I'll say "We could save that" or "We could not spend that and use it towards the wedding instead"...but this is just because I'm always trying to throw any and extra money into the wedding fund. Even above and beyond what we contribute monthly.

We have been saving for the wedding and the house so we are definitely on a budget! We go for a lot of walks and try to stay in the outdoors as much as we can so that's pretty much free haha. We only see each other on the weekends right now so we always splurge on a nice meal out on Friday or Saturday night. We also like to go bowling which is pretty cheap here.
