Wedding Blocks

Lexi, on June 11, 2019 at 8:39 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hi All,

I am in the process of getting quotes for wedding blocks for a September 2020 wedding. Are these prices something that can be negotiated?

Best,

Lexi

Typically the room block rates are significantly less than standard room rates (ours are 15% less than a room outside of the block); however, it doesn't hurt to try to negotiate price. The worst they can say is, "No"

Whether they’re negotiable or not probably depends on where you’re located and if any other events are happening during your wedding weekend. You can certainly ask though.

There's convience blocks that you don't pay for you can try asking about.
Some places negotiate, I think a lot don't

I didn't really feel the need to negotiate a price because it's the closest hotel in the area to my venue and there's only inn/b&b's the other way. She told me the price and I basically said well that'll have to do. I didn't really know what was a good price and what wasn't. I figured $167 was fine for a one night stay. No harm in asking but it usually already is discounted!

Edit: I just checked the rates for the month of my wedding and it is $30 discount for the hotel block rate so I think that's pretty good actually!
