Wedding bands

What a statement they make together!! What parts of the process were challenging? Would you recommend the process to others, or not?

They're gorgeous together! I went the custom route too, and I also love the result, but the process was a little bit of a pain. I talked to my FH about what I wanted, and he had a decent idea but ultimately decided to just go in together to pick something out. I knew I wanted three stones (plus maybe tiny ones along the band), and some kind of intricate work on the sides, which I didn't really find anywhere. So I found something close - basically a plainer ring with no detailing on the sides, and described what I wanted. Then it was a few weeks to get a CAD drawing back for me to look at and give a thumbs up or down. I didn't like what they came up with, so we went into the store and found a bracelet that had patterns similar to what I wanted, and then it was another week or two for them to re-do the design. I was happy with it that time, so it was sent off to get a wax mold made. That took several more weeks, then I got to try it on in person, and once we agreed that everything looked good, they made the ring. And then we repeated for the wedding band. For the wedding band, though, they typically put the custom rings in a certain place, so when we went to pick it up they couldn't find it and we had to come back the next day. And then they couldn't find my engagement ring, which had been sent off so they could match the two rings. It ended up fine, but it was a bit of headache to get them both in-hand.

View Quoted Comment All in all the for both rings the whole process took 6 months. When we went browsing we were far from home and my fh just happened to really like the sales person so he went back to her to give her the commission so all the of the approvals we had to do go all the way back.

I'd recommend it if you have the time to dedicate to it. I wanted a unique ring so I got what I wanted, but we both definitely dedicated to these rings!
