Wedding Band

Any suggestions on where to get a good traditional gold ring and not spend a whole bunch of money on it? We're already married and I've been saving up to finally get his ring in August!

My husband specifically wants a traditional, 10K, high polish, yellow gold 5-6mm band. I've looked at Helzberg because that's where my ring is from but they want like $500 for it after taxes and engraving fees and realistically speaking the ring shouldn't really cost that much - you're really just paying for the Helzberg name.

Zales has it for about $100-$150 less which isn't much but it definitely counts.

eweddingbands also has it for even less than that ($250 I think) but I'm unsure how trustworthy or reputable they are.

Kay's wants the same amount as Helzberg.

If there are any others that are good quality for a reasonable price, please let me know before I spend a bunch of money on it.

We got ours from AydinsJewelry and FacetsandKarats on Etsy. Both were very affordable and great quality.

NotFroofy inherited the one she gave me, but I got hers on eBay (eBay UK, actually, since I wanted 22 karat gold, which is much more common in the UK than in the US). Those plain gold bands were much more common a generation or so ago than they are today, so there are lots of them available for sale when people inherit them, or when people decide to upgrade their rings.

This is not like diamonds, which you probably want to look at in person to determine the size and quality of the diamond. You are just looking for ring size, width, and purity of gold. When the ring arrives, you can check with any jeweler to verify that you got what you paid for (and can get a refund via eBay if you did not).

See, for example, this one for $125: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10K-Yellow-Gold-Ring-Simple-Band-3-7-Grams-Sz-9-5-Signed-RMI/303228716593?hash=item4699d70631:g:b~EAAOSwCW9dMQJo:sc:USPSFirstClass!20817!US!-1
