Wedding Band

Wedding Band 1
Hi ladies!

I’m in love with my engagement ring 😍 it was my grandmothers ring & my local jeweler estimated that it was made sometime in the 70’s. I’ve been having a super difficult time finding a wedding band that can go with my engagement ring though.

I’m super on the fence here. Idk if I should have a custom wedding band designed to go around my engagement ring, or if I should opt for just a solo wedding band. Also a small factor here: one thing I’m really big on is matching wedding rings & my FH hates gold jewelry so I have no hope of getting him to wear a gold ring.
Help (:

I would have a custom made band to fit your engagement ring. Your husband doesn’t need to have a matching band. Let him wear something he loves too.

Your ring looks beautiful! I think you should make a custom wedding band that fits to your ER. If you get a straight band it will "wear and tear" the edge of your ER.

I don't think you need matching bands as your FH, some men don't like yellow gold :/

It's beautiful! love the vintage look of it and that its sentimentally tied to your grandmother, makes it all the more special! I would definately look into getting a custom band to fit it and have it fully come together as a bridal set!
honestly I would just allow your fiance to have a ring that he likes even ifthey dont match personally mine and my fiance's rings do not match he has a good band and mine is white gold we have rings that fit us andthatwe personally want to wearSmiley smile

Have you looked at chevron style rings? It’s pretty expensive to have a ring made custom. If you’re willing to spend it, it’s worth it. But it was $3k+ and I couldn’t justify it.

Your ring is beautiful! It's so unique! The chevron style would probably work really well, as a pp suggested, since it has that point on the bottom. I found some really beautiful ones on etsy.

I also agree with pps that your FH's ring doesn't have to match. My ring is currently (and will be when I get my new one) white gold, and his ring (that he chooses to wear already) is olive green silicone xD He doesn't want a metal ring, and I'm ok with that. I certainly don't want to spend a bunch of money on a ring he wouldn't ever wear. Maybe let him know it's important to you (if you haven't already) but at the end of the day, he has to wear the ring so it's important he likes it too.

I wouldn't worry too much about having your and his rings match. He is also going to be wearing his forever so he should have a style he likes. As far as yours, I feel you. I had the toughest time finding anything I liked and that would work. I ended up getting a gapped band to fill the gap between my e-ring and wedding band. I found the gapped band on Etsy. Keep looking, you will find something you love! Good luck.

I would just get custom made!

Also, your bands don't have to match! My ring and wedding band are gold and then FH's band is black cobalt Smiley smile

ETA: Could you maybe go to a pawn shop and see if they have vintage wedding bands? Even if you don't purchase one from there you could always just see if they have something vintagey that would suit the ring. FH's mom's engagement ring (and wedding band) came from a pawn shop!
