Has anyone used a band in stead of a dj? Looking for recommendations and reviews. Do they still do all the stuff a dj would do like introduce everyone and all that?

I love weddings with bands! They are just a lot more expensive than a DJ so that’s why we went with a DJ.

I’m having a band! Answer is yes - they do all of that stuff. I had a call with our band a few weeks ago and needed to provide them with our timeline, names of bridal party, parents names, etc. They act as the music and emcee for the entire night.

We are hiring a band and ours will be introducing people, and making announcements throughout the night (dinner, cake cutting, etc).

We used a live band and it was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding! Yes, bands are a lot more expensive than djs, but it was 100% worth it for us. They did everything a dj would have done and beyond (introductions, cake cutting, announcements, etc). If you have the budget, I would absolutely recommend hiring a band
