Wedding band problem..

Crystal, on April 27, 2019 at 2:15 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
So as my wedding gift my sister bought us our wedding bands. Their amazing and we love them. I saw the metal and price and I know she didnt go cheap. But.. my ring sometimes burns my skin and has it flaking off like a sunburn. I've never ever ever had this problem before and I dont know what to do to make it better. I'm not going to say anything to her about it I am just wondering if there's any tricks to make it better?

Do you know what store they were purchased from? Any jeweler should’ve offered a warranty or protection program, which usually covers having your ring “re-dipped”. If you’re not sure where she bought them, I’d just ask and tell her you want to have your rings cleaned or something like that. I understand not wanting to upset her, but you really do need to address the issue if your ring is burning your finger! It could be that your clear coat (I forget the technical term for it) on your ring is flaking and that you’re allergic to the metal underneath or the coating. This happened to my friend and the jeweler was able to re-dip her ring in a different type of coating and solved her issues. Good luck!

Ask her where the ring is from. You're not being ungrateful or disrespectful, this is a legitimate health concern. She's going to find out eventually and can you imagine knowing that your sister let her ring burn her finger for however long because she didn't want to say anything to you? I would feel so guilty! As PP mentioned, the jeweler should be able to help you resolve the problem.

Hi Crystal! What a generous gift from your sister!

Have you since asked her where she bought it from? As the pp's mentioned, this is a health concern that you cannot ignore but it may be something as simple as being allergic to the metal that's used. The jeweler will be able to offer some solutions, like re-dipping the ring, or using a different coating.

If, after this, you are still experiencing the burning sensation I would make an appointment with your doctor.

You might have contact dermatitis from the metal happens to me when I wear any silver jewelry.
