Wedding Band Pricing??

April, on November 6, 2019 at 9:37 AM Posted in Planning 0 33
My fiance and I are going to go ring shopping the end of this month and are going to start at the jeweler my fiance purchased my engagement ring from. I'm a bit worried because this jeweler is one of the most expensive in our area. FH just wants a simple band, no bling, and I am also looking for a simple band. I go every 6 months to get my engagement ring inspected and cleaned in order to keep the warranty, and we've looked for fun a couple times. They've always shown us extravagant rings with a huge price tag.

I always thought the engagement ring was the big ticket item, not the wedding bands! What did you spend on you and FHs bands??

This is my engagement ring, I don’t want the band to be more flashy than the engagement stone, I want it the be the best part.

We spent less than a $1000 on each. I believe mine was right at a $1000 and FH was around $700. If you plan to have your rings soldered together, I would recommend asking if it will affect your warranty IF you buy a ring from a different place than where you FH got your engagement ring.

We definitely splurged on our rings. My bad was about 2000 and the rings we’re looking at for FH are also around 2000 to 3000. Rings are one of those things that you can spend as much or as little as you want depending on where you go. If you want to find something less expensive you may want to try a different place than you got your engagement ring.

That's what I'm worried of, my mom had her rings soldered together and I've always wanted mine like that too, but I don't want to feel pressured into buying an expensive ring from them if I don't love it.

Definitely don't feel pressured or buy something you don't like!! Explore all options in the store and if you aren't finding one in your price range or that you like, then just ask about your warranty before you make a decision.

We both have a classic style, FH said he did a lot of research on rings before buying my ring. He walked into the jewelers and told them he's looking for a table top solitaire diamond with 6 prongs! I love how timeless it is, it will never go out of style, and I want a band to compliment it, not take away from the stone. I also don't want to pay double the price at this nice jewelers for a simply band that would cost me much less somewhere else.

The ones we're looking at right now will cost us about $1000-$1500 total, but we haven't decided just yet. I don't see us spending more than $2000 total if we do find something else.

For some reason it seems like if you go to where you got your engage ring the bands are more expensive. We originally looked at where he got my engagement ring and bands were like 5000! It’s crazy. Brilliant Earth has really nice bands and a wide price range, that may be a good place to look for a really pretty simple band that will accentuate your ring but not take away from it. I originally wanted a ring enhancer, but when I tried them on they looked like too much with my ring. I got a simple eternity band for my ring for the same reason.

My FH purchased my band when he bought my engagement ring. He got a great deal on it and honestly my band was clearance. We recently went to the same jewelry store that he bought my engagement ring at and picked out his band. It was just under 1,000. He had a very specific style he wanted. The store we went was a little bit more pricey but it's local and the customer service is great so we don't mind spending a littler more. We looked at Kay too and were basically ignored the entire time.

This jeweler is also local, so I kind of feel obligated to buy our bands from them!! I have to see them every 6 months and they know us on a first name bases, we'll probably go with them. As long as we know an average price for bands, then we go in having a little knowledge and don't feel so swindled!

Sorry my head was thinking faster than I was typing haha. So we bought his for $500. I believe mine was $1200 but it was also speciality made with pre-existing diamonds at a local jewelry store. You are not obligated to buy from anyone. You just need to buy what you love and what is in your price range.

I was able to go to a jewelry store when there was a sale going on. I was able to get my rose gold band with diamonds for less than $600. BUT My fiance's ring was a bit more expensive because of the uniqueness of it... $1200

I spent about $200 on FH's band and he spent about $750 on mine because he got a deal when he bought the engagement ring and band together.

Yeah the jeweler we go to knows us by name too. I know I felt the same way. Honestly I looked at places on line for something similar to what my FH wanted and it was about 100 or so less. But I felt obligated to go with the local place, plus I know if I have problems with any of our purchases I can go in there and it will most likely be taken of.

My band was $450 and husband’s was around $800. A little pricier than I had hoped, but wanted to make sure we got something long lasting. Mine is 2mm 14k white gold. Husband’s is 10k white gold, not sure the dimensions but 🤷🏻‍♀️

My FH band was only around $450 from a local jewelry store, they were having a sale at the time and he picked it himself. Its just a simple band with no bling or anything but it’s a beautiful ring!

This is exactly what we're looking for-they look so timeless!! I'm glad he didn't pick out a unique cut or color, what's in style might not be in 20, 30, 40 years, and I plan on wearing this ring for the rest of my life!
