Wedding band initials using maiden name or married name?

Tia, on May 10, 2021 at 10:41 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
Hubby and I want to have our wedding bands engraved with our initials and date we met. We're already married now. What's more common, to use my maiden name initials or married name initials? Thank you.

I would use your married initials if that’s the name you typically go by (or plan to go by).

I spent a long time figuring that out and decided to follow my grandmother's and mother's rings and put my maiden name initials. My grandmother's actually says "To DT from WS" followed by the date but I think that is because they eloped to Mexico without telling anyone. So the ring was his gift to her at a later time, once he could afford to buy her a ring.

I think you could do either your maiden or your married initials! They'd both work well!! Smiley ring

Have you written them out to see if you like the way one looks better than the other?

I think if you're going to put the date you met then you should definitely use the initials you had at that time.
