Wedding Band! Help!

Aurora, on November 4, 2019 at 3:04 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20
I really love the idea behind getting wedding bands. However, I’m so picky and I’ve been to the jewelers three times and I can’t find a wedding band I absolutely love! My ring isn’t very large and I feel like once I add another band to it it looks so bulky and I hate bulky jewelry! Please help!

You could have a band custom made. That way it is exactly what you want.

That’s what I was thinking. I don’t even know where to begin! I’m less than three months out!

You can always get a very narrow plain band that barely shows if you’re worried about it looking bulky. But I agree that you may want a custom band. If you go to a local jeweler and explain what you want, they should be able to help you design something.

Do you have in mind what you would want? Find a jeweler that does custom jewelry and go in and tell them exactly what you are looking for. They will draw it up for you and should be able to make you one within your three month time period. Good luck!

I struggled to find a band as my engagement band itself is rather dainty. I highly recommend going to look and whatever you "might like" as the one.. putting a note in your file. We did this and weeks later went to look again. We I still didn't know the second time, I had them pull the one marked in my file. It was completely opposite from what we were looking at that day.. but as soon as FH and I saw it again, we knew it was the one!

Have you looked into super simple thin bands? Then have a lot on Etsy.

I found a local jeweler that I worked with. I sent her pictures of things I liked and she had samples brought in. We took those samples and played with the size / layout / number of stones from there to customize. Would 100% recommend going custom to get exactly what you want.

Is your ring flush against your finger or is there space? I had the problem where I wanted to buy a straight band, but it's impossible to have it under my ring cause there's no space. I'm getting a custom band so that it wraps around my e-ring.

The band on your ring looks similar to mine! Check out this band, and they have flexible financing options, and you can lower the gold options and stone options to save more! They also offer different financing options! Even if you don’t like this band I would say check out their other options, they have tons of different bands and very affordable

I was the same as you!! I didn’t like the wedding band I found at most jewelry stores. Then finally at the last jewelry store I found my wedding band.

I love my e-ring and wanted to keep it the main attraction, so I got a super thin simple silver band from Etsy Smiley smile

I had a custom band made to match my engagement ring and it didn’t take very long. Go to the jeweler where he got your engorging and start there.

Check out Etsy! If you get a cheaper in price one, you could always change it up after a few years if you're not loving the look and still pay less than at a jewelry store!

After all of your encouraging words my mother and I finally went out one last time and we found it! It’s a mixture of rose gold and silver and I absolutely love it! Completely transforms the ring! Pictures don’t do it justice!

You could also wait until you find the perfect one, even if it’s after the wedding day itself. Then once you get it, it could be like your wedding all over haha 😊

I went with a smaller band style as to not take away from my e-ring. Every enhancer or contoured band I tried on, I hated.

Here is my set. I also didn't want a bulky band but also couldn't find anything that would work with my ER and that I actually liked. I opted for a thin, gapped eternity band then a dainty band to pair with it as my actual wedding band. You could get 2 gapped bands (1 for each side of your ER). In the photo, the middle band, is the gapped band. Looks solid but doesn't add any bulkiness to the set.
