Wedding band for the groom

Christina, on January 29, 2022 at 12:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 13
My FH likes jewelry although he doesn’t go out of his way to buy himself anything, so I really wanna get him something special. Something that’s him, if that makes sense. He also has a physical job, so I’ll be looking at something practical/durable as well. I’ve found many options within a wide pricing range. How much did you spend (or are planning to) on your FH’s wedding band?

Maybe plan a trip to a jewelry store together so he can try on different cuts and designs to find which are his favorites, most comfortable, most practical, etc.

H's band was $300 (or so) five years ago - we got him a tungsten band, which can be really bad when you work with your hands, so we also got him a silicone band that he wears on the day-to-day - and honestly, he prefers it (I couldn't tell you the last time he wore his "dress" ring)

Every time I think about my FH wedding ring I get upset because somehow he loses it (he isn't a jewelry person). But I found a ring I know he'll keep up with and since I've since I spent about $250 (mind you our budget isn't big), this ring will only be $100 and it has his favorite NFL team on it. I think he has a good idea where the last ring is, and the only reason why I'm not so mad is because we recently moved. But I'll still be getting him the NFL ring.

I spent quite a bit I feel on mine man's; it was around $550. It was custom made by Catbird in NYC (I'm from DE)...but I also got him a qalo silicone ring to wear to work and places he doesn't want to wear a solid gold ring. So that's an idea too...

My husband’s band was originally $900, but I got it on sale for $750. He wears silicone bands to work for safety purposes but wears his gold one on date nights, family events, etc.

My fiancé wants a custom made carbon fiber ring because it's light and durable. It will probably end up being around $200. Like others, when he's seriously working with his hands he plans on wearing a silicone ring.

I think that’s a great idea! It doesn’t even matter how much it cost. If it’s something that’s him and that you know he’ll keep up with, it’ll be perfect. My FH and I are the total opposite. I’ve lost my engagement ring a few times already 😅 Luckily, it always turns up lol.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people are doing two rings, which makes perfect sense. My FH works a lot with his hands too, so something really nice won’t be practical for him all the time either.

Not sure if you’ve already narrowed down what you’re getting him or not but they have some pretty unique carbon fiber ones on Manly Bands. You can customize them too!

UPDATE: I ordered his wedding band! He gave me some input, but it was important to him that I pick it out. It’s black zirconium with a cerakote inlay so it’s pretty durable and nice looking. I’m having it engraved for him as well. The company included a black silicone ring in my order too for FREE, so he’ll have that as an option for work. It’s listed for $575, but I only paid $475 after taxes (awesome discount right now).

Manly Bands doesn't have the weave pattern he wants lol. We're going through Titanium Buzz, and they have a showroom in our state so we plan on going there one day and having him look at things in person. The ring he truly wants literally cannot be made - I asked every single carbon fiber ring manufacturer in the US (sometimes twice by accident) and it's not possible to have the weave pattern with the ring shape he wants; it'll ruin the ring. He ended up being pickier about his ring than I was for mine 😂
