Wedding band, Before or After engagedment ring???

karen, on August 31, 2016 at 8:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

So I seen so many different arguments about what finger to wear the engagement ring... left or right. Then once married moving it. But I want to know where are you ladie putting the band? do you take your engagement ring off and then place after the band or the other way? I was thinking of putting the band first

Do you mean during the ceremony?

I'm planning to wear it on my right hand during the ceremony, and then I will put it back on the left afterwards. Typically your wedding band is on first then engagement ring.

I put it on my right hand for the ceremony. Moved it over after.

The wedding band sits closest to your heart. During the ceremony you can wear it on your right hand and change it later on, or if you're getting them soldered together, your FH would have it. Also, in some countries, they continue to wear them on separate hands so that's not uncommon.

During the ceremony my engagement ring will be on my right hand... then move it back once I have my wedding band

But you are suppose to wear your wedding band on your left hand... going on first before the engagement ring... it should be closest to your heart.

This is the reason behind the tradition:

Thousand of years ago, there was a Greek and Roman belief that a vein from the fourth finger on the left hand ran directly to the heart. This vein was known as the ‘vena amoris’ also known as the vein of love. This belief led to the tradition of wearing the wedding ring on that particular finger, symbolizing the love amongst the couple being married. According to scientific evidence, this myth is not true, however many individuals still like to believe it is.

Right hand during ceremony and switching to go after the band afterwards.

I wore my e-ring on my left and just swapped them after the ceremony. I would have done right to left but my e-ring doesn't fit on my right hand.

My e-ring slides into the middle of my wedding band so my MOH ran and gave it to my DH right before the ceremony.

Im keeping my engagement ring on my left hand and then he can add the band during ceremony. Once were done, i will rotate them because the wedding band is always suppose to be closest to your heart on your left hand.
