Sorry I won't be of any help, but if Hobbiton is what I think it is- LotR related, then you're going to have the coolest wedding ever. I would LOVE to attend a wedding like that.

You should really allow vendors to comment on this thread. They have extremely valuable insight.

I'm a kiwi. I would recommend a wedding discussion group that NZ has, but you might have a heart attack with the kind of advice they offer. Apart from the constant talk of booting bridesmaids and getting your family to do all the work on your wedding, some do make suggestions for good vendors.

Hobbiton is a pretty popular wedding venue, it actually won an industry award for 2016.

weddingwise also has some reviews on it as well, but generally, most don't know about it unless a vendor requests a review, so FB is your best bet.

I had to look this one up on google...YOU GUYS ARE SO AMAZING!!!! What a destination wedding...wow. I have heard of an AirBNB nook out there themed like the Shire and they have the best reviews, so I am sure it will be awesome.

Thanks everyone!!! Hobbiton takes care of their own catering and drinks (at the Green Dragon) so Im not too worried about that. Im loving the LOVE y'all, I will definitely post all the BAM. I think I'm just nervous about all the little details because ill arrive in NZ 2 weeks before the day!

That sounds amazing! I can't specifically help with Hobbiton planning, but my biggest suggestion is to look into the legality of getting married in New Zealand. Every country has their own rules (some needing special marriage visas), so it's best to know what those are way in advance so there aren't any surprises. If you have a planner working with you, they might be able to help you out with that process, or at least point you in the right direction. We got married abroad as well and ended up signing our marriage license at home before we left so we didn't have to worry about it!

I think it's great that you're arriving two weeks before your wedding. That will give you plenty of time to get settled in, tour the venue (if you haven't already), and make sure everything is ready! What little details are you most nervous about?

How was your wedding? Could we see pics? I need help since I want my wedding there too.
