Wedding at a Drive In Theater?

Anna, on July 7, 2020 at 6:45 PM Posted in Planning 1 12
Would you consider choosing a drive in theater as your venue? I just saw this today for a nearby theater and I was intrigued. I only skimmed but the price didn’t necessarily depend on numbers and it included a lot. Oddly enough the weekend price is cheaper but it includes discount admission to the normal movie lineup while a weekday wedding gets a private showing.

I already have my venue and photographer so I’m not asking if you think I should do it, just curious ay this new idea for a venue and how popular it might be. It definitely seems like a good option for COVID.

Heck yes we would. We love the drive in and go as many times as possible each year. It’s also a great option for social distancing.

I’ve seen this done on one of those TLC Four Wedding shows. The couple loves the movies and had little movie themed poster decorations everywhere and unlimited popcorn and typical movie snacks as their cocktail hour. It looked super fun, so I say hey why not?

This looks pretty fun. If the plans for our big wedding fall through next year maybe we can do this since it is under 2 hours from where I live. Maybe combine it with hiking in the mountains.

It’s a cool place. I’ve only been once for their movie night. Finding when the movies I want to see line up with my availability to go. I’m kinda hoping this Saturday might have a good lineup.

Oooh, that's a great COVID wedding idea! A drive-in wedding? (Doesn't work for us city folk without cars, but, heck, I'd rent one!)

Certainly a great idea for movie/car buffs.

If I didn't have my venue this would be definitely a super cool and unique idea for a setting especially with social distancing rules applying. My FH and I love drive in theaters. I grew up with them as a child and I just love them so much more than a regular theater! thanks for sharing!

Chairs are welcome too. When the weathers nice most people sit outside of their vehicles with a portable radio, though I saw something recently about them having an app now for listening.
