We're having a DW in Jamaica and notified everyone by email and then sent STDs for those that were invited.

A wedding announcement is sent out after the wedding has taken place, so it's kind of the most useful for situations where the couple eloped or had a small wedding with few guests.

Those are the situations when announcements are sent, because people are invited to the wedding but you want them to be aware it happened and when.

Definitely! Like Hannah said, wedding announcements are specifically for couples who eloped or had small destination weddings so they can share the news with everyone afterwards! Smiley heart

That’s really the only time you should send announcements. It lets people who are important to you know about this big step in your lives that they were unable to witness in person.

We had a micro DW and sent invitations to our family members who were invited. They already knew about it, but this felt a bit more formal.
