Wedding and birthday in the same month?

Sara, on November 8, 2018 at 1:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 19
I'm looking at booking a venue soon, and there are some great options during the summer 2019. I'll be turning 30 in May 2019 and my fiance will be turning 30 in July 2019. The venue we like the most is booked up in June. Would it be weird if we planned the wedding in either of our birthday months? I don't really know why but it seems weird... What do you think? Thanks!

Also, what about Mother's day weekend, Father's day weekend, Memorial day weekend? Lots to avoid... Thanks!

Its all a matter of preference. My birthday is nov 1 and we are getting married nov 30...not ideal that i have something the first and last day of the month but i wanted to get married this year and it was a date available the venue had. It wasnt a deal breaker for me

I would avoid the holiday weekends, you mentioned, but I don't see why you'd have to avoid your birthday. I know some people like to celebrate their birthday every year regardless of what birthday it is, and they have a party, etc. I personally don't find that necessary after 24 birthdays so if our anniversary was that month I'd be fine with it.

Our wedding is 3 days after my FH birthday and we didn't find it weird. More celebrating!! And hopefully he won't forget our anniversary haha

My birthday is March 22. My wedding is March 23. Lol, clearly I'm a fan of having a wedding in your birthday month! It makes it more special to me, and I don't mind combining celebrations in the future (like celebrating my anniversary and birthday together, though FH knows I will require double gifts! haha)

Our wedding is 5 days after my birthday and I honestly didn't even think about it when picking a date. I would definitely avoid holiday weekends, but the birthday thing is up to you.

Hi Sara! I think this is entirely up to you and your future husband! Personally, I was born on my parents Anniversary, and we love having so much to celebrate at the same time! It's all a matter of personal preferences and what you want to do! Smiley kiss

I dont think its weird at all my parents got married a few days before my moms birthday. Her birthday is May 13th and they where married on the 7th of May. They've been married almost 31 years. It's all up to personal preference though do what you feel is right.

This is up to you and thinking about how you'll celebrate in the future. You only have the wedding once, but the anniversary and birthday will be there every year. I have a friend who got married on her birthday. I personally wouldn't have gotten married in my birthday month because both my husband and I have birthdays the same month and Valentines Day is sandwiched between. I wanted to spread out our celebrations.

My friends got married like 1 week after her birthday, and sometimes she feel like the birthday gets over shadowed by the anniversary or the anniversary gets over shadowed by her birthday. She didn't think about it, but she says they were spaced further apart. UNLESS they take an anniversary trip, and then she is happy because it is usually for her birthday too! I know that doesn't help, but things to think about!

I don’t think it’s weird. Our wedding is 2 weeks before FH’s birthday. He already shares his birthday with the Christmas holiday, why not with our anniversary too?!

If you're gonna question holidays and birthdays you'll never get married. We got married my birthday month and it was perfect for us.

My birthday is 3 days before our wedding. I don’t have a problem with it. Since our families are more traditional and adhere to Chinese customs, there weren’t that many auspicious days for us to get married in June since I wanted our wedding on a Saturday.

Our wedding was 9 days before my birthday. I didn't really think anything of it! It was the date that worked for the venue, our VIPs, etc.

My birthday is 10/19 and we got married on 10/28. We wanted a fall wedding and that was the only date they had left. It’s all good, you get to celebrate twice!
