Wedding after party?

CHEYENNE, on May 31, 2016 at 3:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

My wedding is on a Sunday from 4-9ish so i was thinking of having a wedding after party for people who want to go/don't work Monday. What are some good after party ideas? Clubs aren't really my thing. Would bowling/drinking at the bar there be ok or weird? Any other ideas?

Also would it be rude to only invite bridesmaids/groomsmen or should I invite anyone who wants to come?

    Like the day of?

Odds are you're going to be to tired to after party- enjoy your reception and then go fuck the shit out of your new husband.

Save after parties for Metallica concerts.

Hahahahha ohhhhh jeez Jo I should have expected that one! We are complete night owls so staying up till 2-4 AM is completely common. I really don't need THAT much time for sex. Besides sex is kinda a hit or miss thing with him. (Medical reasons bleh)

Let people know where you're going just don't make it a big deal or they will think yore hosting. If you just want to extend find a lounge type place where you can actually hear each other talk.

I'm hoping to have one, but it will be more day of/word of mouth type thing.

All the wedding after parties I went to were kind of lame. It wasn't the bride or groom's fault, it just that there is a natural progression to things and the after party just doesn't flow.

Totally do an after party for whoever wants to continue the fun! Bowling, a bar, whatever you like. Not weird at all!

Usually the "after parties" I've participated in were really just whoever was in the hotel going to the bar in the hotel. It wasn't announced or anything, we all just showed up.

I'm a huge fan of after-parties!! And that sounds like a good idea for a chill Sunday night. We had a huge after party on our 10 acres of land after our Saturday wedding. My neighbors grabbed the keg from the winery (2 miles down the road from our house and we got permission in advance to take the keg) and set up the keg and leftover wine in their truck bed as a make shift bar, some other friends brought alcohol (they did it of their own volition, nobody was asked to bring anything). the band came up to our land and played for another few hours, and we burned through 2.5 trees that were approximately 20 ft tall each huge bonfire (our friends who stayed the week of the wedding had helped DH create a huge fire ring and cut down some dead trees on our land). It went on until about 3am when most people put themselves to bed (a lot of people camped on our land). DH and I went back and did the deed even though it was 3am and we'd been up since before 5am! If I get the feeling that people want to keep partying, I'll spread by word of mouth that there is a tiki bar at the hotel next to where the rooms are blocked. It has live music.

We are staying in walking distance of the venue. There are quite a few places in between. Knowing my friends, they will be up whether or not FH and I decide to join in or not.

Our reception ends at midnight on a sat. We will be going back to our house and it will depend on how we feel if we will invite others over or not.
