Wedding 2021

Haley, on September 20, 2018 at 8:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hi i just got engaged in august and we are planning on getting married in august of 2021. Our theory is to have 6 girls including me... 6 guys including my fiance and 6 children. And We want the wedding on August 6, 2021. We would like 3 flower girls..1 ring bearer and a page Prince and princess.. The 2 youngest flower girls will walk down the aisle together, while the older flower girl walks down with the ring bearer since they are the same age. Then the page Prince and page princess will walk down the aisle right before me holding a sign saying here comes the bride. Did I over think this is at all. What do you guys think?

I think you have a vision and working on executing it the way you envision it. I’ll be getting married in May of 2021. Congratulations! Have you picked a venue or looked at anything else?

Thank you! Congratulations to you too Smiley smile We have looked at 2 possible venues and are going to look at one more next week. Our goal is to choose the venue as early as possible so we can start saving up the money to book it. Right now our main focus is picking a venue, then maybe we can slow down a little bit and enjoy looking around at wedding stuff.

The good thing about booking your venue early will be locking in the earlier year’s pricing. We are having a destination wedding and the plan is to book early next year so as to give our guests and ourselves time to pay on the trip.

I would love a destination wedding, but we decided to have a local one so that way we can go on a cruise for our honeymoon.

No it’s not too early to start planning and having a vision! You may change it or you may not! Just enjoy the process as much as possible!

I’ve been with FH for 12 years now and when we started talking about getting married we always talked about a destination wedding. We wouldn’t have been able to afford a wedding at home.

It sounds like a really cool vision, but the good news is since you have nearly three years until your date you can wait at least two years before you ask anyone to be in it. That will give you some flexibility to change your vision (which, honestly, happens a LOT) without upsetting people or creating confusion caused by asking too early! Keep in mind that each additional person adds multiple costs (e.g., flowers, gifts, etc.), so whatever you decide will definitely impact your budget. Also, even though you might be absolutely sure of all your choices right now, do a quick search for old posts related to "wedding party drama," "firing my bridesmaid," etc., and you'll see LOTS of good reasons to hold off on the asking until 6-10 months prior! Have fun planning and good luck!

Honestly I don't think my vision will change. I have wanted the wedding this way ever since I got with my fiance and dreamed of marrying him. I need to ask everyone early enough so I'm not doing it the traditional way since most of our party consists of family anyways. We are already looking at venues so I'm definitely asking my girls no later than Christmas, so they have a heads up they will be in our wedding.

I'm getting married August 21,2021. We wanted to save to get what we wanted. Plus the DIY stuff won't be so stressful because we have time. I have a MOH and 2 bridesmaids. We picked his granddaughter and nephew for flower girl and ring bearer. I knew for sure about these two long before my engagement. I'm marrying a widower and it also helps everyone deal with any lingering emotions before the big day. Especially because his deceased wife and I have the same name only spelled differently.
