Hey, I just saw the notice that Wedding Wire's Wed Social app is going away a few weeks before my wedding... Is it just being permanently deleted or do we know of any plans for an updated app in its place? If not, I guess I could just use a hashtag...
Permanently deleted. They advise you to download/back up everything by Sept. 1. Wedpics is another free alternative, but yes you could always just do hashtag only.
Wait a minute... I just got back on (was a little frustrated and took a break from all things wedding related). WWis going aeay completely? Or just the forum part?

No lol not wedding wire. Wedding wire has a photo sharing app called “wedsocial” ..wedsocial is being discontinued as of September 1
There are other (paid) options too... we signed up for Veri. I’m not sure if there are extra features or not with the paid option, but I hadn’t seen the free one and it wasn’t that costly. One thing I would watch for on anything free is ads and security. You want your guests to feel safe. My guests would never use a hashtag- it’s not our generation, so I’m hoping this will be something they can wrap their heads around easier.
Hi Mercedes! If you go into your wedding website editor and click on the page for your WedSocial photo feed, you'll see a big pop-up with the notification:
I believe there are also additional notifications within the WedSocial app itself!
I am very confused now, Today is 9/20/2018 and the app is still working and I have not seen any type of notifications, our wedding is in 9 days and before I push this app to all of our guest I wanted to make sure that it will still be working. Anyone have any info???

I was away on our honeymoon this August 2018 when I was experiencing issues accessing our WedSocial app. Unfortunately didn't get the notification to backup/download our photos from the app before Sept 1, 2018. How can we access the hundreds of photos previously uploaded to the app by our guests? Please tell me there is a solution, would love some advice from the WeddingWire support team!
This is unfortunate! Some of my best photos were on that app. I was married in May and just didn't think about the app disappearing, therefore didn't rush to download my photos. It's bs they didn't send our emails or something. I know I never received one.
Hi there! Unfortunately, the WedSocial app was removed a few months ago and there is no way to retrieve that old data. I recommend that you check all of your email folders for the email that is associated with your account, including 'Spam', as we sent users multiple emails encouraging them to export their data before the app was removed! I'm sorry for the inconvenience!
I never received any emails either. I'm just realizing this two years later, but it's more than an inconvenience, it's devastating, @WeddingWireSupportTeam.
