Website for Family Only Wedding?

Caroline, on February 7, 2020 at 2:48 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
Hello!
I am getting married in June, and we are having a family-only wedding (30 people). The wedding is in Florida where my fiancé and I live. My family is several states away. Since I grew up very involved in my community/church, people from back home are hosting a bridal shower for me. I need to have a registry so they can buy gifts (which I feel awkward about since none of them are invited to the wedding - but they insist). Should I create a wedding website with our pictures/story/and links to the registry? If I do make a website, how do I mention nicely on the website that the wedding is a family-only event?

Should I just tell people by word of mouth where I am registered instead?

You can make a wedding website without telling people the venue, date, or time. If church members ask where you’re registered, I would just tell them, not direct them to your website.

Usually where you’re registered is listed on the shower invitation!

I did a website only for family. I didn't want to get bombarded with questions on which flight they're on, where are they staying, what should we wear.

Ironically, I'm still getting those calls and I just direct them to the website. I bet it will still be this way the day of, but at least I know it's all in one location.

If you lose our website can you do so what you can make it private can only access will be with the password. We created a website for our to RSVP on our website but if their name is not listed they will not be able to RSVP but they will also be able to see our registry as well or you can just do word-of-mouth and have a family directed to your website.
