Weather for March weddings?

Ms.G2015, on February 25, 2015 at 5:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 26

Does anyone know if it will be still cold In March because the venue we are looking at has an outdoor area that will be filled with flowers and trees blossoming in the spring but will it even show that early in the year? I'm afraid to go with this space for the outdoor area but have it still look like a wintry postcard around that time... Smiley sad does anyone have any ideas?

    Where are you located?

How... how would we know the weather?

This will depend almost exclusively on your geographical location. Go to wether.com and get monthly averages for your city. March in My city mean rain and lots of it. AZ or SO CAL? Not so much.

    Google...

In Alberta one time we had about 3 feet of snow on St. Patrick's day. You know, just in case you're in Alberta. I doubt it though, nobody in their right mind here would bet anything when it comes to "flowers" and "outside" in the same sentence.

Where are you located? Check the almanac for your area or look up historical weather to see what it was like on your date last year, etc.

@LadyMonk I feel you! Pretty much July and August are the only reliable options for outdoor weddings in Alberta. June and September are a gamble.

If you are located in Southern California March is a wonderful time to have a wedding. It's sunny out with a nice cool air breeze. The perfect weather.

March here in Alberta: 3 feet of snow and minus twenty, March in Hawaii: +30 and sunny. How can one answer this without a location?

It is currently 35 with snow on the ground in New Jersey...

Do we get a prize if we guess the right state and/or region in which your wedding is in?

Depends where your at. Where I love it's usually 60-80s during March, in my hometown you could get snow into April...

And best ppl to ask would be your venue itself. They will know exactly what to expect during different times of year... It's their job :-)

Yeah, no. I wouldn't do March in NJ. Even if there isn't snow on the ground, I doubt anything will have bloomed.

ETA: Hate to put a damper on things, but I also think wintry postcard is wishful thinking. You're more likely to have grey slush.
