Wearing wedding band vs. set?

Addy, on January 12, 2021 at 8:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22
I want to know how common it is to only wear your wedding band vs. wedding band AND engagement ring/ring set?

I wear mine as a set and had them soldered.

I’ve seen plenty of people wear their rings both ways. I work in a hospital & it’s easier to put on gloves with a simple band.

I think it depends on the situation.
On a day to day basis I wear both My rings. I’m a teacher and with covid I have upped my hand sanitizer usage, a lot! My rings became coated and every nook was clogged with sanitizer after 2 days back this year. I chose to wear a plain rose gold band (bought specifically for this from Amazon). I wear that during the week and my diamonds on the weekend. I never wear my e-ring while running or kayaking I only wear my band sometimes my band with diamonds and sometimes the silicone band I bought for activities.
At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference. I’ve never seen my aunt and uncle wear rings at all, and while it’s not my preference it doesn’t make them any less married. I personally would feel bad having spent so much on a ring for it to sit in a jewelry box unworn.

I'm the same as Michelle. I end up just wearing the band on it's own most of the time and just wear the engagement ring when I go out (which is never in the time of Covid lol).

Everyone is different. Most married women I know wear their engagement rings only. While their husbands may or may not wear a ring based on everyday habits. Either they wear them all the time or they don't have one due to preference, job hazards, etc. But there is no question that they are married.

Also I have never met a married woman who wears a wedding ring only. Not that people don't, but in the various social circles I've been part of and regions I have lived in I have never come across that before.

That's interesting because I've only seen the opposite. I've only seen either women wearing both or just the wedding band. In my area of, women wear only the engagement band when they're still engaged, not married. I'm in the northeast.

I am a flight attendant and tons of my co-workers only wear there wedding bands. A taller engagement setting gets pretty banged up and a lot do it for safety reasons. I think it's a personal decision.

If I’m just running to the grocery store or exercising, I only wear my wedding band.

I wear a silicone enso ring on a regular basis. When I go out somewhere nice, I wear the diamond engagement ring.

I've seen some wear both, just the band, or nothing. I work in a hospital and lemme tell you I will not wear my nice set to work ever. I plan on wearing a silicone ring to work that can withstand abuse from handwashing and not tear a glove open nor accidently cut a patient with fragile skin.

Same. During this pandemic where I needed to bring and use Isopropyl alcohol every time I go out and touch different things, I only bring the band and only wear my engagement ring at home and on very special occasions.

I wear my set 99% of the time. However, if I am doing housework, or running to quick errand, sometimes I just wear my band. I do enjoy the flexibility to just wear my band if I so choose.

It all depends on the situation! I have a silicon band that I wear when we go to the gym, or do activities that would possibly damage my engagement ring. When I'm at work, I rotate wearing my e-ring and silicon band.

Many brides solder their rings together once they're married. You can also leave them separate so that you can wear them they way you want, when you want.

I did not have my rings soldered together as I cannot wear my E-ring to work due to possible damage and I picked out a decorative band so I could wear something pretty to work. I also only wear my band around the house and to sleep.
