Wearing engagement ring on wedding day! Yes or No?

Chereena, on August 22, 2020 at 10:50 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 35
I was supposed to get married today but our friend Tropical Storm Laura passed by and we were forced to cancel until tomorrow! My question is, what did you ladies do with your engagement ring on the day of your wedding? Did you leave it at home or just wear it on another finger until you move it back once your wedding band is placed!?

My wedding isn't until next year, but I plan on wearing mine on my right hand and switching it over afterwards.

I was planning on wearing mine on my right hand and switching it over after the ceremony, but I'm also considering having my fiance place both my engagement ring and my wedding band on my hand at the same time during the ring exchange in our ceremony.

I think I’m going to wear mine on my right hand and switch it over after the ceremony.

I’m leaving mine on my left hand and will have him place my wedding band on to complete the set. After the ceremony I plan to switch them so wedding band is first, then engagement ring.

I thought this was what everyone did. I have never seen otherwise, if the Bride to be wore an engagement ring.

Nearly all women wear the engagement ring during the ceremony. They may choose to swtch rings' positions afterward but it's not required.

I wore mine on my ring finger and he just put the band above it (I later switched their order). My ring finger is the only finger my ring fits on so putting it on another finger wasn’t an option for me.

I wore mine til the time for the rings. Then I remembered to take it off and switched it to my right hand until after the ceremony.

I did this. My groom placed both the wedding band and engagement ring on my finger during the ceremony.

Why do you switch the order? The engagement ring came first so wouldn’t it be on the inside and the band on the outside?

If your rings are separated your groom might have a hard time. Unless he does one at a time. His hands will probably be quite shaky and could accidentally drop one. Just an FYI.

It's entirely personal preference so you can choose to have them in any order. Many women choose to switch them after the ceremony but there is no right or wrong.
