We just postponed the wedding indefinitely

Again, money issues. He still hasn't called the IRS to find out about his refund. I told him that I can't be strung along with plans for a wedding, only to have to continually embarrass myself when I have to tell prospective vendors that I don't have the money for them right now. Again, money issues. He still hasn't called the IRS to find out about his refund. I told him that I can't be strung along with plans for a wedding, only to have to continually embarrass myself when I have to tell prospective vendors that I don't have the money for them right now. I don't know when we'll ever have the money. He won't go to City Hall, so that's out of the question.

The only recourse is to postpone with no new date in sight.

I'm relieved, but I also feel let down in the process. Very conflicting feelings.

I'm sorry and understand the conflicted feelings very well! Our wedding plans never included a huge wedding but it was a nice small wedding that has since turned into a very simple private ceremony. It can feel like a break up with your wedding! This past week I was boxing up my centerpieces and only things I had made too. Donated a bunch of bridal mags to goodwill and that sort of thing. Eventually we will plan a huge party for a vow renewal but right now...we just want to start this marriage out with low stress.

It sounds like you are making the right choice for youself. It's hard when there is that conflict of opinions though. Let me know if you want to talk! Lots of people here have been through the same thing :/ It doesn't always work out like on the wedding tv shows Smiley tongue

I am extremely sorry that you have to go through with the cancelation of your big day trust me I know that its hard. I went through it myself I was suppose to be getting married this July and I had to push it back a year so my fh could finish his masters degree. I guess for me it was for the better because we got stronger as a couple and never lost any love.

trust in your fh and belive that things will work out. I belive in the power of positive thinking. put the good before the bad. everything happens for a reason sometimes we don't understand why at first but it all becomes clear later. I will be praying for you and best of luck to you in the future

Wow Jen sorry for your issues, I do hope marriage is what you both want, and if love and marriage is what you both want, that going to the courthouse could be good thing, and later on have a large vow renewal, that is how I feel. I say lets do this year and save more for the honeymoon and reception. But I rather wait. But I do wish you luck!
