Waxing? Trimming?

Rachel, on January 3, 2016 at 12:30 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 42

So, I am getting married soon and was just wondering.. How did you all "groom" your pubic area? I mean, I keep mine nice and trimmed and have shaved it all, but never actually had it ALL waxed. My fiance and I have never had sex, and I am kinda uncertain about what to do downtown. Know what I mean, Doc? Sooo... What did you ladies do for your honeymoon and what would you recommend? *EDIT* I'm up for trying waxing, but what does your significant others think? Do they have a preference? To add some more context, my fiance and i are both still virgins as well. I realize that the answer various with different men, but just curious.

Just do what you normally do for upkeep.

    It's all personal preference.

And you will want to feel comfortable on your wedding night. Smiley smile

I've never waxed I've always just shaved, honestly I'm a chicken in regards to waxing. I'd say if you're considering waxing try it now to make sure your comfortable and then if you're happy with it do it again just before your wedding. Also if it's a conversation you and your fiance are comfortable enough to have ask for an opinion? Either way it will all work out and comfort is key! Smiley smile

You can buy a Gigi wax warmer kit, it comes with an instructional dvd (not real expensive) see how that goes.

I agree with trying a wax now if you're leaning that direction to not only see if you like it, but to see how your skin handles it.

I am professionally waxed from the eyebrows down. I get Miss Kitty completely clean and I love it. However, it is painful. I suggest you speak with FH before you do anything. DH is old school and was not keen on a brazilian wax when I initially told him about it. But he does prefer it now.

I've had a wax. It hurt like a mother. However, for wedding night purposes I might consider it, then never again!

I will be waxing before the big day. The last thing I want to do is have to worry about is shaving.

I get sugaring done. I prefer a Brazilian sugaring, front and back. Sugaring is like waxing, but is made from more natural ingredients, and goes with the hair growth, not against like waxing does. I've only ever been waxed once, and it was an awful experience (but that could have been the aesthetician!), but I really like sugaring. It's not to say it's not painful, but it's less painful. The most painful part is when se tweezes the stray hairs out. That actually makes my eyes water.

That said, I'm currently looking at laser hair removal, so I don't have to deal with it anymore haha.

Do whatever makes you comfortable. I probably wouldn't do it myself the first time, because I would be worried that a) I wouldn't pull hard enough or b) I would do one strip and be done.

When I started my monthly Brazilians, I was told that they start on the outside and with their way in, in case you find it too painful to continue. Personally I find the outsides (especially near the top by your hip) the most painful part!

I hope this helps a bit? Sorry if it's TMI!

Waxing hurts like a mofo! I started waxing 8 months ago in preparation for the wedding day. I suggest starting now for the best results.

    Personal preference.

I do whatever I want. Lol totally inconsistent. I'll shave and then let it grow a bit and then just trim for a while. FH doesn't care as long as it's not a jungle.

Never tried waxing. It's on my list though

Usually I shave, but in the summer I wax most of it myself. I use a numbing creme I found on Amazon for $17 that is amazing. Put it on... Wait 30-45 minutes, and I'm totally good to go. Took me 4 different cremes and sprays until I found one that works for my skin type.

Definitely try sugaring over waxing especially if you have sensitive skin. I'm on the opposite side and don't really think waxing or sugaring hurts that bad and the benefits definitely outweigh the pros.

For your first time I would not recommend waxing yourself.

Do a test area on your upper thigh. It's surprising what you might discover an allergy or sensitivity to in more sensitive areas. If it goes well, great. Try for the pubs to see how that goes. However, start as you plan to continue. Don't do your first night together waxed if you plan to never do it again.

I think it has worked out well for us that I have a policy about being me. I don't like makeup or shaving, so both only happen for special occasions. Our first time was special, but I didn't want to start with what I felt would be a lie. Be you.

Find a waxing salon near you with good reviews. Take an iberprofen about 20 mins before you go. The first time is the most painful but then you get used to it. Go once before to make sure it's what you want for your big day. Most good salons will talk you through the options and how far in advance you should get it done .

I definitely recommend waxing but you will need to grow your hair out at latest 1/4 of an inch (about a months worth).

I usually just trim, but I got a Brazilian for the wedding as a treat for H. But as we had been together almost 3 years, he knew that it was a treat.

I get sugared Brazilian about every 5-6 weeks. I love them and so does fh. Yes, the first time I walked I looked 12, but so worth it for me. I wear glasses and can't see well enough to shave on my own. I tried the at home kit and made a mess of it lol.

I started with just a bikini sugar for about a year then moved up to Brazilian.

I used to get Brazilians but switched over to full bikinis a few months ago. I go back and forth. I'm a huge fan of the European Wax Center because of the type of wax they use (paperless) and their hygiene practices (no double dipping eww).

If you wax get a hard wax. I second European Wax Center they are the best. On another note since this will be your first time you might want to just keep up your normal maintenance routine. I don't want you to give him false expectations of your post honeymoon vajayjay.
