Waiting on wedding photos

Brenda, on June 20, 2018 at 8:14 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

So in our contract it states that the edited finals will be sent in 4-8 weeks from the date of the wedding, April 21. As it turns out, our photographer just got married and was on a honey moon last 2 weeks. Finally he answered my email and said that he "should" have them by next Tuesday, almost 10 weeks post wedding. I'm a little frustrated but I don't want to be rude or offend him and possibly get a subpar job. Should I just let it slide even though we have a contract, or ask for a bonus print or??

For now I’d let it slide. He should have told you but was just married and enjoying his honeymoon. If it goes beyond the timeframe he provided, I’d definitely request a free print or something.

If he doesnt send to you by Tue then definitely message him asking for free prints or 1% refund or something. He agreed by contract to produce and already has not followed through. He should’ve notify you in advance if he wasn’t going to keep the timeline.

We had our local ceremony on 5/5 and destination reception on 5/12, we already got back all of our photos & ceremony highlight video within 3 weeks. Just waiting on the reception video.

For now I would let it go. He holds your precious wedding photos in his hand and he hasn’t done anything too egregious, so I wouldn’t escalate anything.

Hi, Brenda! Congrats on your marriage! I support the popular opinion here- I wouldn't make any demands just yet but if you don't receive your photos by Tuesday, I think it's completely fair to whip out the contract and say that the photos are already 2-4 weeks late and that the delay should have been communicated in advance (it's not like he got married on a whim and went AWOL for two weeks). Keep it friendly, but firm to start and see where you can get that way! Good luck! Smiley ring Smiley cake

If he doesn't get them to you by next Tuesday, I'd send an email explaining your disappointment since the contract stated 4-8 weeks. It's nice he got married, but he still has a job to do.
