Waffles!

Jennie, on February 12, 2017 at 1:58 AM Posted in Planning 0 53

Fiancé and I are having a morning wedding and want to do a waffle bar (among other things) at the reception. Any ladies out there do a waffle bar that can give me some tips and tricks? Thank you!

Your caterer should have the necessary equipment and means to do this! Love it!

Love the idea. I agree with LindseyO. Talk to your caterer.

We are!!! I'm so excited! We are doing cream chipped beef, waffles, eggs, and toast for what ends up being more lunch by the time everyone eats. FH and I love puns so each food will have a cute sign and for the waffles it's "I love you a waffle lot".

We went to a morning wedding that had a waffle station. Not sure if that is the same thing as a waffle bar. Would recommend you have more than one person making waffles at a time. They had a waffle station and omelet station. Problem was that's what everyone wanted and it took FOREVER. Figure 2-3 minutes to cook a waffle times 100 guests. That's 3-5 hours if I'm guest #100 in line.

That's awesome! Is it a brunch or just breakfast reception? You could aways add chicken or other proteins, as well, for "topping" choices. Do they offer one type of waffle or others too? You could mix savory and sweet waffles into your mix of choices. Good luck!

FSIL had a breakfast reception at her wedding and had a waffle bar! She had around 5 Waffle makers, then tons of toppings. She put out whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate chips, fresh fruit, several different kinds of syrup. It was awesome!

I'd second what Jersey girl said. When we did this, we premade the waffles and had them in chafing dishes, which worked fine. Watching a waffle cook isn't particularly exciting....

Please tell me you're not self catering; brunch is a meal that has a LOT of moving parts and obviously, it's early.

We are having a chicken and waffle bar as one of our buffet stations! It will be chef attended and guests can choose from red velvet, plain or pumpkin waffles and then fried chicken and a bunch of syrups and toppings.

Yum! I like Celia's idea of having the caterer pre-make the waffles and the guests can do their own toppings.

Thank you everyone! I was either thinking making the batter myself and having multiple waffles going but like Jersey girl said I don't want it to be forever until people get their waffles. We will also have biscuits and gravy and other things for those asking.

You need a caterer for something like this. It's not appropriate to make the batter yourself.

Yeah you definitely need a real caterer for a brunch wedding. Most breakfast food is only good if it's hot, and you need to move fast. Leave it to the professionals. It sounds freaking delicious though
