Vow renewal after courthouse wedding

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't changed my avatar, I don't have access to a computer yet to do so. I am reaching out to see who had a small ceremony (such as a courthouse wedding) when they first got married and then did a big vow renewal? My husband and I did this and are renewing our vows in July. I wanted to see how everyone did theirs, how it went, did they do it like a traditional wedding, etc? Thanks so much for sharing

When was your courthouse wedding?

I know someone that did this and am attending their wedding next month. It is being treated like an actual wedding. Hey - it IS their wedding celebration. They sealed the deal this past summer at the courthouse to make some immigration matters easier. Gotta do what you gotta do! I see no problem in planning your celebration like an actual wedding celebration.

I did. Mines is coming in a few weeks. I'm calling it a Celebration of Our Union and it's being planned just like a wedding ceremony.

Thank you! We have been married for two years this year and I am wanting to plan it like a normal wedding but I've heard/read some mixed feedback around it. Such as I'm not having any bridesmaids or groomsmen, and I am debating having anyone walk me down the isle.
