Virtual toast - let's raise a glass to all the crap

MrsNerd, on September 3, 2016 at 10:01 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 18

Let's all raise a glass and drink to all the bullshit that we have to put up with. Or, better yet, to the good news we have!

Today, my BM dropped out, said terrible things to me, and ended our friendship. (Which is ok I guess, since she wasn't a very good friend). I'm under strict doctors orders not to drink, but this vodka soda is mostly just seltzer, so... Pardon my stress-peeled nail polish.

Please share your news, bad or good, and join me in a virtual toast! (Non-alcoholic beverages are ok too, I'm not excluding anyone in my virtual party!)

Here is to football season and all the crazy emotions that come with it! (Mostly me wanting to smack FH for yelling at the TV and scaring the dogs!)

I'm glad you're stress is over with.

My FMIL and I mostly figured out centerpieces today. He's my water to toast with. Wine will come later.

FH's grandma decided she won't be attending because she can't travel, even though we've arranged for a family member to escort her to and from and everywhere inbetween. He doesn't have much family, she means so much to him, it's breaking my heart.

Ps it was taco night, so some good news?

I have a super intimidating exam in 2 weeks. I know it'll turn out alright, but I can't help but freak out a bit. I could be studying, but I got a good study session in earlier today so it was time ever for a drink. Moscato for me Smiley smile

My MOH still hasn't made travel arrangements for my wedding. She is my only bridesmaid. We sent all of our info out so early since our wedding is in a very popular place in October. I think she will have a lot of trouble finding accommodations. For example, our hotel block expired over a month ago due to the popularity of the region in the fall season. I'm kind of miffed at her for waiting on this, mostly because she keeps asking if there is anything she can do to help me. All I want is for her to show up!!!!

ETA: raising chamomile tea at the moment. Trying to cut back on alcohol & sweets. :/

Raising the Oreo ice cream FH (pictured in background) went out and bought for me because I'm a PMS monster tonight and picked a FB fight over a Wells Fargo ad I find insulting. I need to be put to bed. Can you put vodka in ice cream? Actually, I might have Bailey's around here somewhere.

    Champagne here!

I have to toast to my fabulous, psychotically on time officiants who all got to their Jersey Shore weddings early today (despite the holiday), kicked some serious ass, and are now hanging in their jammies at home. Including me.

And a toast to everyone who has already been hit by this hurricane crap on a weekend with so many weddings.

Only 1/3 of our guest list has RSVPed and almost none of the out of town guests have booked rooms. There are 5 weddings at our hotel and 3 more at our alternative so they are all out of luck I guess.

Oh and I don't think the BMs are going to fit in their dresses and they haven't ordered new ones.

    Woohoo 28 days left!!

So sorry about your situation with your BM. Ending friendships is always painful even when you can recognize that it's truly for the best. I've certainly been there!

Not much bullshit on my end for now! My invitations came in today and they are BEAUTIFUL! I'm so excited to send them out! Also I did nothing other than lay around and look at wedding stuff on the computer today. I didn't even get out of my pajamas or brush my hair. It was a much needed lazy day.

    Cheers!

Today I'm home visiting my family, and we had a great day. My sister got a new job so we spent the day shopping to help her pick out new more professional clothes. We came home, and had dinner (BIL is out of town, so it was just my sister, parents and me).

After dinner we talked about a few wedding things, mom asked for some addresses for a shower list she's planning, and we got talking about the invite list.

My mom has a few friends who kind of treat her poorly, but she keeps going back and forth on inviting them. Personally, I don't want to invite them, but she's paying - so whatever she wants is fine with me. I said that, and she threw a temper tantrum. She actually said "I don't care, I'm never going to talk about the wedding again"

Later she stormed out of the house, said she needed to go for a walk and slammed the door shut.

    Yeah... it's great here...

    Cheers!!

I drank an entire bottle of sangria at SFIL's bday party.

He & MIL gave DH a check. Seems they are getting finances straight in order for him to retire & wanted the kids to have something while he was around to watch them enjoy it. Completely unexpected since DH was an adult & already married (to his ex) when his mom got remarried. That DH would be included in this is pretty special.
