Vintage Wedding Theme

Lisa, on February 10, 2020 at 2:13 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

Good morning!

So this weekend we went to our local stationery boutique to customize our save the dates and invitations suites. Our overall plan was to stick with our colors, greys and Tiffany Blue, without a specific theme since we aren't doing a 'theme'. We fell in love with a set that has a vintage feel and decided to go with it.

Now this has me thinking and I started googling/Pintresting vintage weddings and I love what I see! I don't want it to be over the top or Gatsby but just some touches. This is what I'm thinking so far while keeping with our colors...

- Vintage-inspired invitations with a wax seal

- Vintage mirror as our Welcome sign

- Vintage ring box, velvet in Tiffany Blue

- Antique style chargers for the reception tables

- Vintage frames for wedding signs

- Vintage style jewelry for accessories

- Vintage cake cutting and serving set

What do you think? What could I add? If you've done a vintage themed wedding, what have you done?

Thank you!

We want real flower centerpieces - this is what we have a quote for from our florist. But it can be changed.

I'm also planning a vintage theme wedding with dark purple, grey, and touches of navy blue. I'm saving empty wine bottles for centerpieces, maybe small birdcages with candles, and Garland. I didn't want Gatsby look either but I like the font. We also bought personalized wax stamps and hot glue gun wax sticks. We're playing older music and having our first dance song on vinyl as the guestbook.

That sounds lovely! Were did you get the hot glue gun wax sticks? Seem like an easy way to do it! Our centerpieces will be real flowers, but could probably mix some other elements in there. We are also playing mostly older music (think Frankie Vallie and Frank Sintra). I'm happy my cake serving set is vintage-inspired, I bought it before this idea even came to mind - it just liked it!

I got my wax sticks from letterseals.com and our stamps from nostalgic impressions. I think we're gonna use lots of pearls too and maybe drape them over our centerpieces. You can get a roll of that at any craft store!

I think you would enjoy my venue, it's an old historic luxury hotel that has been converted into an event center. We are going with the "vintage elegance" feel too. Smiley smile
