Venues with out dressing rooms

TooManyMistys, on June 16, 2013 at 12:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Okay another logistics question. One of the venues I am leaning toward is a winery they do not have a dressing room. This is fine for we are considering having hotel rooms the night before so we will have a place anyways to get ready. My question is where would you normally hang out before the wedding starts? Or do you just plan to arrive pretty much right on time? I am not sure how to work the logistics of this out.

Do they have side rooms - or some other sort of small rooms that you could get change in?

I would think if you get ready in a hotel you just leave the hotel to get to the venue for the ceremony, so you don't 'hang out' at the venue before. So you are arriving pretty much on time at the venue

No, two of these places have no place to hang out (other than a bathroom not big ones either). My main concern was timing. If we got there too early I didn't want to have hang out in a car lol. But wasn't sure what others did.

At my nieces wedding the bridal party arrived in a limo and it parked out front until time for them to enter. They didn't get out of the limo until everyone was inside and seated. They had some drinks in the limo and A/C so they were pretty comfy while they waited. They timed it to arrive about 10-15 minutes before time for the ceremony to start.

    Ahh

I have never seen a bride hang out when she arrives.

Check her hair and dress are straight and GO.

(I have seen as she leaves to go to the venue someone with her ring the best man or someone to say 'we have just left' so they have a heads up and so can make sure that people are getting ready)

I guess that's what we will have to do is hang out in cars (there will be no limos)

How far is the hotel from the venue?

Is there an area where you could set up some pipe and drape to section off a space for the bridal party to be "hidden" until time??

We have no clue how far the hotel will be for we haven't set that up yet. and no place to drape an area... @ Mary all the weddings I have been at they dressing rooms the bridal party were in there until it was go time. I haven't been at a wedding where the bride was coming from another location.

I'm getting ready at the hotel, well, kind of. I'm going to a salon to get my hair done and stuff, as is FSIL for her wedding. I would say, even if the hotel is 20 minutes, it's definitely doable just to get ready there, and would make more sense.

Yeah, I guess our option in this case is to stay in our cars until it's time to go in at these places (with the exception of the one that has a room) because none seem to have a place we can stay. we will just arrive I guess and then it's show time lol.

Is there any space at the venue to even set up a tent or something? That way you could hang out somewhere other than your car, but no one would see you.

@Kristn I would imagine that would cost too.... But not really one is a winery/restaurant, the other you could but again that would require finding a tent and well probably be more hot then a a/c car. But no space at the venues without requiring me to go completely into the venue. Which from what I can see I would abe coming in from outside (I know it's weird) I hate the set up but it's in our price range.
