Venues with byo catering options in Pennsylvania or Delaware

Angela, on March 2, 2020 at 1:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hello! I am looking for venues that don't require specific caterers. We live in Philadelphia, but can't do a venue in the city because of parking. We've been looking in a 2 hour radius- excluding New Jersey. I have been searching for months and have completely exhausted Wedding Wire, The Knot, and Party Space, so if anyone has any ideas, it would be immensely helpful!

Do you already have a caterer you want to work with? If you do, you could ask them for a list of venues they’ve catered at.

Some of our family members offered to make the food for us, but that is a good idea.

We're trying to avoid hotel-type ballrooms and country clubs. My fiance doesn't like barns very much, but he might be flexible if need be.

I’m not sure what you mean by the parking being an issue in the city but we are getting married in Philadelphia this year in the city. One venue I had inquired about was power plant production which allows your choice of catering and has discounted parking across the street.

Most venues aren’t going to allow unlicensed and uninsured caterers. It’s can be a serious liability.

I was looking at that earlier today, actually. We are concerned about the amount of parking we would need and if our guests would be willing/able to drive into the city.

One of the places we looked at mentioned that. We have not officially said yes to our family yet, it was simply their offer as a gift. We are absolutely open to catering companies, we just cannot afford a high price per head.
