Venue

Luz, on October 11, 2022 at 1:46 PM Posted in Texas Planning 0 14
I'm looking for a small venue that holds up to 100 guests and most important that no cost more than a $1000. We are not going to church so ceremony and reception needs to be on the same place. I don't really want to spend $$$$ because it's the second wedding for both of us.

It may help to share what area you are in. However, that is a very low price for anywhere. Maybe ironically a church location might be a good place to check as a venue. The other problem with a low venue cost is that you may end up paying rental fees on chairs and tables. People who have planned backyard receptions end up with costs adding up to actual venue costs.

Hi Luz! I’m from the neighboring city there! I’d suggest starting with WeddingWire’s venue search and plugging in Conroe, TX. You can even set your budget. From there it will suggest a list of venues to look at.

Did that include other things in the price like drinks, food, tables, chairs, linens, etc? Usually where you can save us venues that are “all-inclusive” or mostly inclusive of other things needed.

The reality is that they are charging just for venue, tables, chairs, nothing special out of what should be included.

Hmm, if you’re looking for something no more than $1000 I would suggest looking into PeerSpace, It’s an app that allows you to look at different places and you’re able to book their area. Are you planning to have your wedding in Conroe? It might be a bit pricey if you’re looking into that area.

Any standard venue would need to charge more than $1000. If you consider a day's pay for maybe two people, that would take up half the amount you want to pay. It really would have to be some place that is hurting for some extra money and would have the chairs and tables available already (so you didn't have to add these rentals to your own costs).

Pay 8-10,000 k for a venue just including chairs and table is a steal of money.

I think the prices partly come from prices for company events and just the competition of weddings wanting the same venues. I think people have mentioned that parks could have lower costs. Maybe if people brought their own chairs so it was more an informal situation, something could be worked out. Again, there may be a church, or library or school that could be found at a low price -- some place not usually spotted for such events. (But most of the time there needs to be a person hired for the day and then cleanup and possible insurance costs.)

I used to coordinate weddings in the past but here in Texas the prices are abusive.

The other way to reduce cost is to do a friday (or weekday) wedding. This idea does not help if you are focused only on a weekend wedding.
