Hello Beauties

My Fiancé wants a winter wedding and I’m so not here for it. #1. Because I absolutely hate the cold 2. Because it have to be inside which I know will be expensive 3. Because I found this inexpensive venue outside that is better for our budget. How can I break it down to him that it’s really a NO GO for me without sounding selfish?

Do you know why your fiancé is so stuck on a winter wedding?

Could you do a Winter theme, maybe in the fall, when it starts to be cool? So that you can both get what you want.

    Congratulations and 🍀‼️

Where do you live? I wanted a winter wedding and my fiancé convinced me otherwise by talking about how where we live it could snow massive amounts that weekend and our out of town guests wouldn’t be able to make it in.

Or if he is a money guy talk about how much money you will save with this outdoor venue.

Have you shown him the differences in price in writing? IMO if he’s willing to pay the extra cash to have that date then I’d tell him go for it. you could say, I understand you want a winter wedding because our anniversary is a romantic time. But I’m very uncomfortable having our wedding in the cold and spending all our budget on this date. What do you think about getting married (at this time) and planning a romantic getaway/weekend/honeymoon on our anniversary? I think that would be a fair way to negotiate. If he says no and wants to pay the extra cash then maybe it is that important to him and worth compromising with him on. I let go of my date because my fiancé felt so strongly about certain things that I thought were fair enough.

Ahhh.... so a blizzard might not be a valid reason to avoid a winter wedding.

I would show him the overall savings to the budget. Money talks lol. But if you could do it early spring or late fall you could get some great winter feeling details tucked in.

Not all places are cold in the winter. But also sometimes it’s only 200 extra bucks for a room flip (like my venue).
Just gotta do more searching at venues and find all the fine prints! Happy hunting!

We’re having a winter wedding, and it’s actually cheaper than it’d be during spring, summer, and fall because winter is the off-season for weddings. Our venue is all indoors and is a lot less expensive than most of the indoor/outdoor venues we found. If you’re set on doing it during a different time, see if he’ll compromise on doing it in early spring or late fall where it’s close to winter.

Hey fellow MD bride! We're getting married in early December before the weather starts to get to bad. But historically MD has had its worst snowstorms in Jan & Feb.... remember Snowmaggden in 2010?? I would use that as your argument, a blizzard and lost deposits aren't worth a winter wedding.

It will be way more expensive. I went from an outdoor spring wedding in bethesda MD to an indoor one in Baltimore. It added like 3k but I had to move the date

It might possibly be cheaper ... barely anyone gets married during the winter time .. wedding season is typically fall, summer or spring
