Venue vs Hotel Room?

Chylee, on June 6, 2019 at 11:22 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 20
Hello ladies ! Just curious as to who's getting ready where? Are you using a bridal suite your venue has or are you using a house/hotel room? My venue does have an area to get ready but it isn't very big & I'm not sure if I like the idea of getting ready in it.
I have myself, 3 bridesmaids & my mom who will be getting hair & makeup done, it has 1 mirror.

I am getting ready at my bridesmaids house

ive seen people book a hotel room just to get ready in, especially if you plan to document and take photos of that portion of your day it does ideally look nicer

I will be using the suite at the venue. They have a pretty nice space for both parties so we plan on arriving early and doing everything (hair, makeup, etc.) there.

We are doing a mix. The girls are going to the salon first for hair and makeup, then going to the bridal suite at the venue to actually get dressed and relax. The guys will be getting ready in the hotel suite rather than the grooms suite

We are doing it at the venue. It's a big space, and very nice, and it is already included in the venue. Smiley smile

Our venue has an amazing bridal suite & grooms man cave so that’s where we will be getting ready.

Thanks for your input ladies!!! Now that i'm thinking about it, I live in Las Vegas & there's something going on that weekend every hotel is SO expensive... I'm thinking air b&b, I can get a place for under $100 to check in early & get ready & just check out when I leave, i feel it's worth it in the aspect that we can get ready & drink & eat as we please since my venue only allows catering when bringing things in ... has anyone ever stayed at one before cause I haven't.

I’m getting ready at our loft because I have everything I need there & don’t have to worry about bringing stuff, so it will be more relaxing for me. It’s close to our venue. And also, it has high ceilings & huge windows with ton of light, so getting ready photos will look gorgeous!

In your case, if you can afford it, I’d prefer a hotel or AirBnB where I would stay the night before & the night of the wedding. This way you will be more comfortable & won’t have to carry bunch of stuff to the venue. If you are doing getting ready photos, I’d also consider how the space will look in photos & if it has enough light (important for photos but also makeup etc).

We are getting ready for the most part in a hotel room that I am booking, its like a double room so plenty of room! Our venues getting ready area is to small. However, I won't be putting on my dress until we get to the venue, but hair and makeup will be done beforehand!

I can't get to the venue until 2 hours before the ceremony so I will be getting ready in a hotel room and putting on my dress and final touches at the venue.

We are only able to use the venue bridal sweet 1.5 hours before the wedding, which is not enough for hair, makeup, and some photos before the wedding. We’ll be doing everything but putting on the dress at the hotel which the dress and final touches at the venue.

The bridal suite at our venue was one of the (many) things that completely won me over. It's beautiful so we'll be using that for sure. I really wanted to have a single location to stay at all day and not have to worry about traveling somewhere in my dress or transporting my dress and putting it on somewhere else.

If the venue wouldn't have had such a great bridal suite, then we would've used the AirBnB that I'm renting for me and the girls the night before.

Probably just going to use the provided room. Don't want to wrinkle my dress.

We are using a suite at the hotel. There's lots of room, lots of natural light, and a lot more seating. It also gives us some flexibility if anyone leaves anything behind in their room by mistake. Our venue has a suite as well but its on the small side and we can only get in 2 hours before the ceremony. We plan on doing family/bridal party pictures before the ceremony (no first look) so there would just simply not be enough time to get ready there. Plus, the hotel has a lot more pretty outdoor space for pictures than the venue does, but the inside of the venue is gorgeous.

We'll be getting ready at my parents house. I don't want to have to deal with not having a lot of space.

My Venue's space is very small so I think my girls will get ready at the hotel(it's 3 min from the venue) And I'll get ready at the venue

My venue has a bridal suite that’s huge, so that’s what we’re doing. But I’ve been in a lot of weddings and done everything from someone’s house to sitting on the floor in a hotel room. Do what’s comfortable so you can relax!

I booked the hotel getting ready room just in case, same situation though it is very small.... we are planning on getting ready in the king’s suite and hoping we won’t have to move to the small room!
