Venue Searching

Cassandra, on May 15, 2019 at 5:07 PM Posted in California Planning 0 11
We’re getting married July 2020 and we have been searching for a venue and I feel like the hunt will go on forever! How long did it take everyone to book a venue? We’re limited to beach or mountains because it’s July in Southern California 🔥 and we’re also only going to have 50-60 people. Not trying to spend life savings. Just kinda feeling discouraged in this area.

    Congratulations on your engagement Cassandra!!

Have you come across the WeddingWire venue search tool yet? You can filter the search to your location and input your wedding date and preferred venue style to see what is available! I’ve linked you to California Wedding Venues here but you can be much more specific in your own search!

I think that the WeddingWire Venue Cost Guide could be a really great resource for you also. It will tell you the average cost of different wedding vendors in your area so that you will understand what is a good price, or what is quite expensive.

How did you and your FH decide on your wedding date?

Yay! I hope you like it! It’s really nice because it’s just a drive on the 8 and then maybe 5-10 mins on streets and the Viegas casino and hotel is 10 mins away. The house is amazing and has sooooo much room. Let me know what you think!

Oh wow! I’m waiting to hear back on it 🤞🏻 Is it more of a bring all your own vendors type venue or more ‘all inclusive’ style? Thank you again!!

We are doing it on our own which I like because you can make it look and be exactly as you want it! I seriously can’t say enough good things about it. Obviously I’m biased because we chose it but trust me once your out there to look at it you’ll probably feel the same way!

That’s part of my problem, trying to decide which route I want to go. How much planning I want to actually do 😬

It took us almost a year, long engagement. We went to the local places, and called and emailed and video chatted with the further ones. We were everywhere: the mountains, beach, desert, inland, San Diego, Mexico, Bahamas, Los Angeles, Napa, Tahoe, a yacht, cruise ship I was so over it I was ready to go to the court house and say screw it all. Ended up at the first venue we went to....

    Oh I forgot Santa Barbara.

We went with an air museum in Chino, we have to bring in everything which for me is the best option because I have a vision. Now we are just making payments and doing little stuff.

I seriously feel the ‘let’s just go to the courthouse’ sometimes. Plus we could prob do it free since he works there and knows some people 😂. But that’s not what I want. The plane museum sounds awesome! I want to get married in the forest, unfortunately that’s a ‘thing’ and we’re looking at a hefty price 😫. I think we’re going with our first place we looked at also. It’s an apple farm in Oak Glen. We go hiking there and there’s some cute things that set it apart. And it’s close to home. Not 100% what I was hoping for but we can get married under the trees and have a nice reception. Plus hello apple pies, cider (and hard cider) and s’mores! One thing I love about this place is we get the farmhouse all day to get ready in and they feed us all day 😂 so it will be relaxing getting ready which will be nice.

Have you looked into museums & aquariums? A/C in July is great. And their site fees are a lot more reasonable than a lot of So Cal venues. And they’re unique spaces with fantastic photo ops.
