Venue search is forever hard someone please help

Maribel, on April 16, 2017 at 1:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

I am having the hardest time finding my venue. Neither the wire or the knot have user friendly search engines... i want to be able to search by cost ---like number not "affordable" I also want to be able to search via a map. My. Fiancé grandparents must be at our wedding but we need a place within 45 mins of them so they can come. I type in their area ... which i know has places but all i get back is stuff all over the place and its not easy to go through all 500 places

I found that a little frustrating as well when I started my search, but what I found was I could click on the venue here on WW and then click on the pricing tab and it would give me an idea of what it might cost. Venues can change their pricing, or have different prices for different seasons. Your best bet is to look at that pricing tab, then their site, then if you are interested, email them. Hang in there, you'll find something.

Google is your best friend when it comes to venues! Best of luck, it took me a while too!

Another vote for Wedding Spot. It helped me rule out venues that were out of my budget.

I have the same problem! i used google, yelp and pinterest actually. i typed venuecsearch in google and it gave me a website for my area that let me search by price, # of people and general location ( only frustrating thing was that if a venue posted a range of price it was included)

Wedding wires is actually very friendly. It is hard to quote an exact price since it depends on several factors like timeframe of wedding, how long you want it, how many people, day of the week...etc.

Also, some venues don't list their prices since it is so custom. I know mine didn't. I didn't get a price until I went in for a tasting and gave them all my information about the wedding (# of guests, day of the week...etc).

A lot of places around here don't list their prices for weddings until you contact them directly. I would say that you should contact a few that are listed as "affordable" and tell them the date and the # of guests you're thinking of having and ask them for a quote.

    Good luck!

Definitely try Wedding Spot if you haven't already. They give you ballpark price estimates, which in my experience are pretty accurate. It'll really help you narrow down your search! I found my venue on their app and it is very easy to use.

Most places do not list their pricing on 3rd party websites. When we were searching for venues I just started out googling phrases like, "Facility rental, shelter rental, hotel weddings." Places to look into to save money would be community buildings, restaurants, golf courses, parks, churches, arboretums, winery, museums. etc.

I had a hard time finding a venue as well, but once I settled on the kind of venue I wanted I did a google search and was able to find our venue pretty quickly.

Wedding spot enabled me to find my venue. The cost estimate they gave was extremely accurate. They also provide wedding insurance if you book your venue after using their site to schedule a tour.

You probably just need to start reaching out to a bunch of place and getting quotes from them directly. Wedding Spot is pretty reliable, but once I started getting actual proposals the prices were still off. I got at least 6 or 7 quotes before going to look at any places in person.
