Venue Regret?

Dessa, on October 12, 2020 at 10:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
Anyone experienced venue regret after you’ve already booked? I feel like I jumped into my venue without fully taking in my other options. I already paid 7K...

I did, but after Covid happened they allowed me to cancel for free and I ended up booking a better venue. I’m assuming you already paid it off though, not just the deposit?

Do they have good reviews online? Im assuming you must have loved something about it if you were willing to book and put a large deposit down. Do yourself a favor and dont look at any more venues online and itll stop you from finding something you like better

I've definitely done that a couple times. Nothing too crazy was financially lost except a venue we were going to go with and actually was forced to cancel. What's making you doubt it now??

I chose our venue without looking into many others because frankly every other venue in our area was either too simple or was just a big ballroom with no character so I knew we wouldn’t have much point looking elsewhere. I second guess the choice from time to time but I am naturally a very indecisive person!

I would review the terms of the contract you signed and see whether there is any way you can get a refund if you choose to cancel.

In any event, is there any reason that you’re regretting the venue other than the fact you didn’t really look elsewhere?

I liked my venue but I definitely had moments I regretted aha like I didn’t get the whole venue so I got just a sectioned ballroom and they were annoying about certain stuff

It was hard to see how nice our venue would be when we saw it in February, as it's right on the Hudson River and everything is cold and gray, then. But I liked everything ELSE about it, and then when we popped by in May, I knew it was right.

    By August, it was stunning.

We paid 7800 for our venue and due to covid we got married elsewhere and are being refunded. Where we got married was an outdoor garden and cost us $250. My husband originally didnt want the garden when we looked at it end of August 2019 because he didn't like how it looked ( plants etc were dying due to heat) . But now we regret now choosing it from the beginning because we would have saved so much money and not lost our 1,000 deposit

Oh no, $7,000 is a lot. Why are you having regret? Yes, I have had regret, luckily I received my $450 back on the deposit. The venue's staff ended up being combative and unorganized.

I am a very indecisive person so I didn't have regret but I did second guess my choice. but all I have to do is watch a video and it makes me get all excited again 1 year and a half until I say I do

I sort of had regret mostly because of the amount of money I would have to pay but when I show others the pictures of the place and they tell me how pretty it is I get all excited again. Worth the money for sure!! I would look at what made you love the place to begin with and if its worth the possible financial loss to look elsewhere.
