Venue questions

Katherine, on January 6, 2020 at 3:06 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
I went to look into a venue for my reception and I loved it. It was really nice and romantic with a beautiful view of the sea. My problem was the table seating set up. It wasn’t what I wanted, I asked and they said it wouldn’t be a problem to set it up how I wish but I feel shy asking about these things like asking them to set things up like I want them too I feel like am giving them so many problems. Am not being rude to them or anything like that, I maintain my questions in a friendly manner.

Is it normal to feel this way? And what did you guys do to make you guys feel better if you went through the same thing?

Don't be shy or feel like you are being rude. Asking them if they are able to accommodate your request is completely normal when venue hunting. You will be paying them good money to have your wedding there, so making sure you can get exactly what you want is important.

Don’t feel bad about things like that. I went to visit my venue and it was not set up at all the way I wanted so I basically sketched out exactly what I wanted and they did it just the way I wanted. They are use to do that for the money you pay them. Be sure to speak up for what you want and they will tell you if they can not accommodate your request.

I'm sure you're not the first bride to ask a venue a question like that! This is your wedding. Your one shot at getting the party you really want and have envisioned.

Besides, it never hurts to ask. Worst case scenario? They say no, we can't do that. But for table seating arrangements? I can't imagine them not accommodating you. Go for it.

No worries! I feel the same way - I actually recently met up with my Day of coordinator to go over some questions I had about what was allowed, things I would like to bring in and how i want my day to go. Most places know every bride is different and would like a different set up. My venue offered everything from rustic to elegant with waiters taking drink orders. As long as you ask any question politely they welcome your vision! Happy planning!
