Venue Problems

Kassor, on March 27, 2018 at 2:23 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
So I had booked the venue for my reception last year for my wedding date which went great. Now fast forward 6mths in I feel like I have to start the search for a venue all over again. We have gotten into a little financial situation which causes us to no longer afford our venue and now I'm stressed over drive. I'm searching overtime for a new venue and may now potentially have to change my wedding date due to my original date not being available with any other venues. I'm just looking for any recommendations for a reception venue in the St. Cloud, MN area that is at this point least expensive or even a barn location would be great. Ugh the stress of it all lol

I'm really sorry that you're going through this. It must be very stressful for you.

Have you sent out STDs yet? Is trimming your guest list a possibility? I don't know how much your budget has changed, but that might be a good place to start. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of venues in your area, but I wish you the best in your search.

Yes STD's have gone out and invations with RSVP's have been order but they have not gone out yet. I was going to mail them out and then all this started. We have started shortening our guest list as well and trying to cut out what we can to make things work. We still have 6mths left to make things happen it's just making sure we have a venue lol. Thanks BB-H for you suggestions.

At this point it just may be our next option. It just means we will have to spend more money on invitations again which has already been ordered with our original date. Which would be a double lost becuz we may also possibly lose our deposit on the venue as well as the invitations.

True.. but in retrospect.. invitation costs are a drop in the bucket. I would talk to the venue about MOVING your date and deposit. With ours, if we had to change date for any reason we have one rebook date option if done 60 days in advance. Look at your contract or call the venue. That way you could keep the venue you really want! I would not want to be planning a wedding worried about money.. esp because everything that comes with it is already so expensive!

I hope it works out for you!

Look up on here and the knot for venues. You’re fine!!! Relax. I changed my venue three different times. You’ll be okay. Just keep looking!
