Venue Not Responding?

Katie, on August 21, 2020 at 1:26 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6

Our wedding is a year out, so a delay in a response from a vendor isn't a crisis, but the woman who is our contact for our venue hasn't responded to my emails in two weeks. When should I worry/start calling her superiors?

We have to pay our final deposit for the venue at the 1 year mark and it's been a while since our last payment. I have a new card I want them to use, so I asked her if she could send me a new form to fill out. In the same email I asked if they had a floor plan drawn up or if we could set up a time to go draft one of our own. This was two weeks ago and I haven't gotten any response. I followed up earlier this week, and today I called and left a voicemail.

It's a private university that's pretty well known in our area, so I'm not worried about being totally ghosted by the venue, but I am getting annoyed that it's now been two weeks of radio silence. I understand it's back to school time so there may be additional events occurring that require her attention, and that COVID is making things more difficult for everyone so I don't want to stir up a headache for people, by asking the people above them for answers. BUT, I also worked in a similar office at another university and the thought of not emailing a client for two days let alone two weeks was unacceptable...

Do I call a higher up? Is that bridezilla-ish on my behalf? I just want to pay my bill & get a floor plan.

Since she hasn't replied in 2 weeks since you started contacting her, go to the higher ups or pay them a visit in person.

Two weeks of no response is long enough to where I'd find someone else to contact, or give them a phone call, or stop by in person (if possible).

Usually the "I want to pay you" thing gets their attention. So this is strange. I would call and follow up with Others. You'd think if she was ill or furloughed someone would at least turn on an auto responder to her messages.

Yeah I agree with PP. I wonder if she's sick or furloughed, although again you'd think you'd turn on an auto response email. Forward your original email to someone else, also to prove you wanted to pay on time.
