Venue not responding

Bobby_, on February 6, 2023 at 3:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
I need help advice what to do if the wedding venue you hired for wedding isn’t coming thru when signing contract they promised all kinds of things saying it would be like stress free because it’s a one stop shop! Wrong we’ve been asking to meet with pastor for months and still haven’t heard anything. Also just because we had a meeting last month we couldn’t have another one they cancelled it. It’s been a week since I’ve asked for refund and messaged and still haven’t hear anything. Contract saying if cancellation only credit towards another event but at this point if I can’t even get a response or what they mentioned why would I want to have a diff event there!? What would you guys do

Has your communication with them so far only been through email? If so, try either calling or even showing up in person. Hopefully you can get some answers that way.

Have you read the reviews/heard from other couples who went through them and what their experience has been? It would probably help ease your concerns if you knew that other couples experienced the same but still had an awesome wedding, or if there’s a certain timeline when they’ll start focusing on your wedding. My venue, which also requires that I use their vendors for most things, has a very strict timeline because they have so many weddings, so they won’t talk to any couple about like menu until X months out, and the DJ until X months out, and they only communicate via email with the exception of one(!!!) planning meeting, which they will let us know when it’s time to schedule. I would ordinarily be losing my mind, but because they have their process that they use for every couple, and it’s all worked out in the end for everyone else, it’s less nerve wracking. On the other hand, if this is not usual for this venue, I would definitely get aggressive about reaching out, especially on their social media accounts where they won’t want prospective couples seeing their dirty laundry.
