Venue Insurance

Ashlyn, on April 8, 2016 at 9:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

Where did you all get your event insurance from? The issue I'm running into is that I live in KY and my wedding is in IN so I'm having trouble adding one day coverage to my policies since its in a different state.

What is venue/event insurance? Is that in case you cancel your plans?

Our venue requires us to take out a $1,000,000 insurance policy for general liability and general property damage incase someone gets hurt or something happens to the building while we have it rented out

Our venue recommends wedsafe.com, but I haven't looked into it yet.

Check the city your venue is in. I'm getting my insurance for my venue from the city for $150 for a 1 million dollar coverage

@Tina- it is to help protect the venue from damages, accidents, etc that may happen at your event. We are required to carry $500,000 worth.

Talk to your venue and ask what other brides have used. We used wedsure.com after our venue coordinator told us that other brides had used it. $1,000,000 for 50 guests was like $150.00

We were required to have $1,000,000.00 also. I think most venues do that in addition to their own insurance. They gave us these 3 companies to pick from:

    www.theeventhelper.com

    www.wedsafe.com

    www.rvnuccio.com

Ours was like $170 for 300 people.

I used the Knot's. When I was looking for venues I was using The Knot at the time, and I booked one of their recommendations and I recently got an email for complimentary wedding insurance. Never thought about it before

My venue did the same. We bought from event helper. It was actually pretty cheap - $191 to insure 150 guests up to $1 M

Whatever you pick, I believe when you are filling out the form it asks what state you live in and what state your wedding is in. So you have the option.

    I used Theeventhelper.com

It was cheaper than WedSafe. You can get quotes from both before you decide.

I have $100,000 liability insurance through my renters insurance.

Eta: when I called to check they said that would work.
