Venue ideas

I have toured two venue locations. I have 3 more venue locations to tour. How many did you tour before selecting the one you did?

The first rose garden, some of the roses and other flowers were already wilting and it is July. My wedding is August 2020. We are afraid that all the flowers will all be wilted by the wedding. But, going to tour a different rose garden and see how they look in August.

I went to a meadow at a fort. It was spacious and pretty but that was about it. So, it was really kind of bland.

We are going to tour a pagoda and two different barn venues. My mom is a little against the pagoda because our theme isn't anything Asian. But, the pagoda we like has a beautiful area, I like for an outdoor wedding.

Any ideas for an outdoorsy theme? A rustic (not country country). We both love the outdoors.

We booked the first of two reception venues we toured. We saw it, fell in love, and when we toured the second place we realized that we were comparing everything they had to what the first place had - it was a no brainer!

As far as ceremony locations, we only toured one. They had everything we needed and more, and the price was right. Done deal!

I think we toured 8-10 venues. The venue we booked was the third to last, I thought I was going to like the last two venues more but didn’t.

We toured about 9 venues. We ended up booking one of the last ones we toured. It just worked out with location and budget. I definitely think it’s smart to tour in the month you’ll be getting married so you get a good idea of the temp and scenery during that month.

So far we've toured 3 and only one is a contender. I have my heart set on a pretty bare bones barn with an amazing outdoor ceremony space that is in a woodsy state park but haven't been able to set up a tour yet.

I plan to bring some of the outdoors inside also. I want basic center pieces just some jars with fresh herbs in them and candles. My colors are going to be fresh early greens and browns.

Pic are of my centerpiece inspiration.

We never officially toured any venues. We are getting married in the cathedral in our area and had decided on that prior to even being engaged because he wanted a Catholic ceremony and I said go big or go home let's do it at the Cathedral. For our reception venue it's a club my dad is a member of so we'd been there before several times and just knew already without doing an official tour

Oh my gosh I must have toured like a dozen venues before booking. We kind of knew we wanted to book the one we did but we just wanted to see other more affordable options if possible

We looked at 3 venues and booked the 3rd we looked at. We love the brick and exposed wood look and our venue has that. The first venue we looked at had it as well, but it didn't offer catering or clean up and I didn't want to spend my wedding night cleaning. Venue 2 and 3 are part of the same company, but venue 3 (the one we picked) was $1500 cheaper than venue 2. It was a no brainer at that point!

Toured 10. Booked #4. We booked #4 right away and kept going because it had a refundable deposit.

We toured probably 7-12 places, we are most likely going to book the first one we saw because it has the aesthetic we wanted and not as much set up for us to do. We really liked our venue when we first took the tour but we were unsure about how much money we felt comfortable spending on the wedding so we looked into other venues. Bottom line, the most important thing for us for the venue was to have a nice space that we could decorate the way we wanted to and to be easier on us (we don't want to be setting up for the reception that morning). Plus, you can always make more money and we can afford the more preferable venue.

That is what I am keeping in mind with looking. The pagoda we are both interested in (haven't toured yet), has a decent price that includes catering. That is for up to 75 people. I don't think we will have that many people be there.

We looked at 7 venues! all very different from each other, from a ball room, brewery, restaurant, farm, outdoor tent space, and an old mansion. we ended up loving the last place we looked at, it's a theater space. it fit the feel we wanted. my best advice it look at all different options. some people love ballrooms, we looked at one and knew it wasn't the feel we wanted. it's just as important to know what you don't was as well as what you do want.
