Venue Closure Anxiety

Hey Brides!

I was curious if any of you have been through your venue closing due to unforeseen circumstances? Or if something with your planning changed last minute where you have to accept not having something you wanted for your wedding?

Sadly my venue in Florida has been closed since Hurricane Helene in September (due to damages from the storm). The beach, surrounding businesses, and communities are now fine and pretty much back on their feet from the storm. Unfortunately my venue is one of the few venues in this area that are still closed and repairing. I have been in constant communication with the venue about the reopening date. I am set to get married in May and up until this month, I was told I have nothing to worry about and my wedding will be fine. Well now I am hearing their plans got delayed and now there is a very small possibility it may not be ready by then.

Due to my wedding not only being a destination wedding but also it being in 4 months.....the anxiety I have over this is really getting to me. I am hopeful that it will all work out......but I am also terrified in the coming months I may get the news I do not want to get. I am already reaching out to other venues who are currently up and running JUST IN CASE.....so I know regardless I'll be having a wedding on our date......but its breaking my heart knowing that my vision of my perfect wedding in what I think is the perfect venue...may not be reality after all.....

This idea hurts my heart because I've been envisioning this specific venue for years....and booking it and planning everything around this venue for the past year has gotten me even more excited. Now that this thought it is my head, it is breaking my heart thinking about my wedding not knowing if I will actually be having it there or not.

I am preparing for the worst but also hoping and praying for the best. I was hoping for some support from other brides during this stressful time. Has anyone gone through something like this? Having to change venues last minute and having to accept that your wedding will now be very different compared to what you've been dreaming about for years??

I appreciate anyone who read this far and is willing to respond.

LETS PUT POSITIVE ENERGY OUT THERE THAT MY VENUE WILL OPEN IN TIME AND I CAN HAVE THE FAIRYTALE WEDDING OF MY DREAMS Smiley heart

I live in Florida - can I ask what venue? I know you have been in close contact with them, but if they are close to me (West Coast) I am more than willing to pop in and check for you! Our original venue had a coordinator who absconded with our deposit (and others) and never put our date on their calendar! Luckily for us we found an even more perfect venue and had the best wedding ever. Let me know if I can help - meanwhile ..... positive vibes!
