Hello Brides,

Two days ago I got an email from my venue saying that they have closed. They will no longer be able to have my ceremony/reception at the place. I am 2 months out from my wedding day. They have told us that it may take up to 60 days to get a full refund. This venue had everything included. The linen, meals, ceremony hall, reception hall, bridal suite, groom suite, and decorations was included in the venue. What I am asking from all of you are good sites where I can find good vendors online that was helpful. I am going to be looking into things as well, I just no longer have room for error. Please find a way to sympathize and help a bride out(: Thank you!

Agree with PP who said to try and get your money back faster. Get a lawyer involved if you have to. Breathe today, drink wine as Jo said, and if you really want this start a massive Google search for every place in your area.

I am located in the Lacey/Olympia in Washington State. We have a couple of appointments with venues, so we'll see how everything turns out(:

Also, my overall budget was 10k now it may be a little less due to most of the funds going towards the venue that I had for over a year. We booked it last October, what are the odds.

Not to make you into an object lesson, but this it a textbook argument for wedding insurance.

I hope it all works out for you.

I'm sure wedding insurance has already occurred to her... probably not what she wants to hear right now though.

OP, I'm sorry this is happening to you. I think something like this is probably all of our worst nightmares. I, sincerely, hope things work out for you.

Oh no! Which venue?! What about the Jacob Smith house in Lacey? I also think Indian Summer golf course offers rental space? Try going to Lacey and Olympia's city page...under the parks and recreation tab they typically have a list of spaces available to rent for decent prices.

Try for a Friday or Sunday if you can't find a place for your original date. Hopefully your current vendors will be able to work with you. I would definitely contact them to see how flexible they are. Have you sent invites yet? So sorry this is happening to you!

ETA: Just saw your original date was a Friday so that will hopefully make it easier for you!

I'm sorry you're going through this. I don't know your area but I would suggest the vendors tab as PP have suggested. Also asking your other vendors for suggestions and seeing if your original venue has any suggestions and getting on them to refund your money quicker

I am so sorry this is happening.

How about camp grounds and park? Just plan something very simple with a couple of food trucks?

    Good luck!
