Venue - Changed Prices - thoughts?

AliceandHenry90, on March 28, 2020 at 6:30 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

Hi all,

We booked our venue about 2 months ago for September 2021 and recently we went on their website and noticed that they dropped their prices for 2021 over a thousand dollars in total.

Do you think this is something I should try to discuss with my event venue coordinator? Has anyone has experience with this? I am kind of half and half if the event will actually give us the new price because we already signed the contract, but I feel like I am kind of getting screwed otherwise.

Thought I would see what you brides think before I go ahead and ask. Ultimately - its not going to make or break us as we were planning to pay more anyways, but that $1,000 dollars could go to some fun on our honeymoon, etc.

THANK YOU! Smiley smile

Not the same but....I found a percentage discount card with my bridal salon after putting down the deposit on my wedding dress. I asked if it could be added and the answer was "yes"!

The worst thing they can say is "no". Just make sure it's an "apples to apples" deal.

Sure. No harm in asking. If they “yes” then that’s great... if they say “no” then no problem 🤷🏽‍♀️

It's always worth an ask, but they may be doing that in response to those postponing their weddings until next year.

Read your contract carefully, before you call!

I think it’s fine to ask if you could get the difference OR something for the difference e.g maybe an upgrade

It can't hurt to ask the worst they can say is no! Or maybe you can use the difference for upgrades if they let you that way you're technically spending the same anyways but getting more
