Venue and Shoes!!!

Mariana, on May 23, 2019 at 8:58 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
Hi everyone! My name's Mariana, 22y/o and getting married at 23. Just said yes a couple of months ago! We live in one of the highest mountains of our island and have always been the typical outdoorsy couple. We knew first hand we didn't want our wedding/reception, which we'll be celebrating both at the same venue, to be in a closed area or under a rooftop but outdoors. Yes, we're making arrangements if it rains of course! We found a nice little farm/ranch which has this cement gazebo and behind a forest, that's where the ceremony will take place and just a few steps up a tiny hill is gonna be the reception where the floor level is better and more comfortable. It might sound dumb but I'm dying on thinking how THE HELL I'm going to go down that hill by my dad's arms on high heels without falling on the pebbles that mark our aisle. I guess my question is, have any of you walked a pebble stone aisle on high heels? Any tips on how to get a good grip? Maybe a suggestion of high heels/shoes I can look for?

This is exactly why I said to hell with high heels, I am wearing converse. LOL! Because even on a level ground I would probably trip on air and bust my face. Me and heels do not get along lol

You only get married once! I say go for whatever you feel comfy in. They have really nice sandals and flats for a wedding day. Smiley smile

If you really want to wear heels, I would try to find wedges.

Another vote for low wedges, if you want a heel. Or if you prefer flat, then ballet flats, keds, sneakers, boots... anything will be fine. Will your dress be floor length?

You dont have to wear heels. Chose something you're comfortable and can walk in.

I hate all heels that aren't in boot form, so I'm wearing boots! They only cost me like $12 and I plan to dress them up with some cute boot bracelets that I'm making.

Also, my ceremony is outdoors at 10 A.M in late October, so I'd rather have my feet warm!

You will want to wear wedges for sure as you are less likely to catch an edge. If there is any chance of you having to walk on grass, or dirt though, as silly as it is, you may want to look into microspikes! They can really help if the ground is soft.

Then your shoes will hardly show in pictures and on your wedding day, so all the more reason to choose whatever shoe/style you feel most comfortable in!

My mom told me the same thing. She's all into the whole traditional bride gear hahaha but I told her I was really scared of falling, so she just told me to go in whatever I felt comfortable in. She said and I quote: "...i took mine off after the first 10 minutes of the reception" 😂
