Venue Almost Impossible to Talk to

So I did a lot of research into our venue. They had nothing but good reviews, went and saw them and they were fantastic. We booked two years in advance. Now I'm 6 months away from my wedding and trying to visit again so we can organise what time our wedding will be but they take weeks and many follow up messages to get a hold of and a date and time is never convenient for us or them and they stop responding. I recently paid off the rest of our money owing and still haven't received confirmation or a receipt. They told me they were away end of July but I don't know when they will be back so feel bad emailing again.

    Is there anyone at all there they can connect you with that'll be responsive? For my ceremony venue it was the main pastor and he was terribly unresponsive so he eventually connected us to someone else that took over and she was great

    It's all the one person. He owns the place and runs it. He has staff he hires but all correspondence is through him

    Of course you need to be as polite as possible but you also need to be firm and express your concerns with meeting deadlines. The venue should provide you with a timeline of when they will meet with you and work out your wedding schedule. Also, I would do whatever you can to make yourself available on whatever dates they have available. I’m sure everything will work out.

    I agree that they need to be better at getting back to you. However, I know from my venue that right now is prime wedding season. We met w/ our DOC Friday morning & she said that right now is so hectic w/ weddings.

    I had similar difficulties! Our venue is owned and managed by one guy, and he is so difficult to get ahold of. We found that email was his weakness, so now we only call or drop by haha. Have you tried showing up at the venue (if appropriate) or calling?

    Trying not to be too demanding as I want a pretty chill wedding and not be on bad terms on the day as they are an all inclusive wedding venue and are organising decorations, schedule, etc.
    Very hard with my partner and myself both working full-time and having 3 kids to make sure I am free when they ask, especially when they only give me 3days notice if they get back to me at all. Last correspondence was over a month ago now. Not sure whether to demand a refund and find somewhere else

    Oh I fully understand that it's busy and hectic but over a month with no contact and not even receiving a receipt or confirmation for my payment in over a month, I feel like I'm being scammed

    I have social anxiety and can't make phone calls. I'll get my partner to call in a few days if I hear no more from them

    A month is a long time. My DOC answers emails on Thursday right now. Friday, Saturday, Sunday she has weddings, Monday she goes to expos, Tuesday & Wednesday she is off & doesn't check work email, Thursday she replies to emails. I’m ok w/ this - as she explained the schedule. But communication is key.

    Don't feel bad emailing again! The venue is supposed to be responsive to your questions and concerns
